The UNC game is going to be tougher than they appeared pre-season

They had a great game plan against USC, then again their QB had a wide open guy for a TD and he overthrew him with over a minute to go in the game, and they disrupted what the OC wanted to do. Lastly, the half time adjustments made by Mack on all Sides of the ball impacted the game. Make no mistake we have our hands full next weekend and our non-biased ACC good ole boys refs hate us to start so you know we ain’t getting any calls when it matters most.

People forget that had any other head coach been hired this would be a throwaway rebuilding season.

My thoughts have not changed based on one game for each team.
Our front 7 is going to be a pain for their OL to stop. We will force lots of TO's just like the last couple seasons.
Our TEs are going to be able to burn their LBs.
We should be able to run the ball on them.
I think we find a way to beat them comfortably.

This will definitely be a better version of NC than the Canes faced last year. It is possible that Hurricane Dorian could alter plans for when and where the game is played. Stay tuned on that one.

South Cacky had some of the worst defensive Pre-snap alignments I’ve seen in awhile. They are terribly coached. Simply gave UNC rushing lanes all day. It was comical. Howell will be dealing with a monster when he plays us.

Legit = UNC’s QB had some fade throws that were impressive. They will take their shots versus man-to-man coverage. His WRs caught tuff passes. And they rushed for almost 200(?) yards. They played hard on defense. Their defense played hard against us last year as well. But, SC is slow AF AND THEY don’t have our personnel. 21 at MLB gives UNC a very fast MLB. Kid can run. Just can’t wrap up correctly. Still learning. Also, gives them a QB mind in the middle of their defense. In addition to a potential liability.

One particular 90+ yard drive, they basically asked the Frosh to make about two throws (1 TD throw with a bobbling one hand grab) - and ran the ball the rest of the drive. Which led to their outside matchups.

He shouldn’t get too many easy Pre-snap looks with us - and when he does, I like our matchups.

The turnovers are coming.

FYI - UNC did a complete Longo beak down (preseason). I actually like some of his concepts. Requires his WRs to read defenses quite a bit and adjust their routes accordingly. A lot of free routes - and they embrace the 9. I can’t wait to see how we attack them. May have a Toledo feel early on.

So the look-ahead Vegas line was Miami -7 and that was before yesterday's showing by UNC. We are still starting perhaps the worst offensive tackle in the ACC, I challenge anyone to name a worst RT/LT starting combo than Nelson and Campbell. And don't give me that "they're young" ****. I watched a lot of football yesterday and didn't see a line as exposed in any game as much as ours was last week. This will be a game we need to be very focused for and we shouldn't go in expecting a 30 point win.

We definitely have the worst tackles in college football.

I think some are still in denial after the UF game, telling themselves it's the best line we'll see all year, Jarren held onto the ball too long, etc. And yeah, that may be true, but these tackles are going to cause us problems and turn games we should easily win into struggles. They've already significantly contributed to a loss that should have been a win.

They really looked a lot more together and inspired than I thought they would. They've got a really good frosh QB, a surprisingly stingy D and enough playmakers to score. Until today, I truly thought this game was going to be a blowout for us, but playing at their stadium, and playing the physical brand of football that they showed today, I really think this is going to be a hard fought game.

I've gone from my 30 point Cane blowout prediction to: Canes 30 vs UNC 23

Let's just get the W by hook or by crook and use the following month of non-conference games to get ready for the ACC gambit. This season's schedule is already feeling like it'll be more difficult and competitive than it did on paper during the offseason.

Thoughts?

We saw different teams. We will blow out UNC by 3 scores

Losers spend all their time trying to find excuses to justify why they lost, winners just keep finding ways to win.

UNC is not UF, they're not Bama, they're not UGA, they're not Clemson, they're not Oh St...

I DONT WANNA HEAR SH*T ABOUT OUR OL, OR HOW TOUGH THEIR DEFENSE IS, JUST WIN THE FCKIN GAME!

Along with some very animated team meetings where the coaching staff covered the errors of the last game... I expect Jarren to come out on all cylinders with better play options and some deep shelling. We got this one comfortably.

All I saw was a poorly coached Muschsmp team and a overrated Jake Bentley. Their secondary couldn’t cover a tree if it moved.

If SC had SoFlo athletes it would be a different game. Sam Howell looked average but our D line will definitely make him look like a freshman

My thoughts are, we are going to kick their ***. We played like **** and still almost won against a much better team. The good guys win by 14+..

Agree! We protect Jarren and it's over early in the third.

I saw a lot of creative blitzes that created pressure every time USCe dropped back to pass the ball. And on third down especially they have some incredibly fast ends that were blowing past the tackles.

This is going to be a dog fight.

Dont worry they just believe it was Greenard and Zuniga the only ends in the nation with speed. i know what i saw with UNC...their dline will be a problem for us..thats a fact.

I mean I know what you’re saying but I just want Manny and co to show me something after that uf game

Same here. I expect to win. I was just offering a non-emotional perspective.

But my heart wants us to stomp them out and get the taste of that loss out of my mouth.

If we don't win this game by more than a touchdown, I'd seriously start wondering whether or not we hired the right coach.

You Don Bailey Jr's can fire up all the excuses you want, we have more talent than them across the board. We are also battle tested now against a tougher opponent than they faced in their first game.

Zero excuses. I don't even want to hear it.
