The UNC game is going to be tougher than they appeared pre-season

UNC had a good offense last year.
250 ypg passing and 193 rushing.
That's not why they went 2-9.

The defense allowed almost 450 yards and 35 points per game.
They graduated their top 3 tackles and sack leader from 2018.

Do not let an edge of the seat win against a bad USCe team get you anxious. They're not a very talented squad.

Not saying this is going to be a 30 point blowout because they tend to play Miami tough at home but I'd be surprised if they kept it within two touchdowns. Miami should be able to put up massive yards on the ground against their weak front. Take some of the pressure off Jarren and the tackles. Miami in a workmanlike performance 31-14.

I think we should win but it’s funny how quick the narrative changes around here. Before yesterday, everybody had UNC getting crushed by So Car but now that they won, oh SC isn’t any good either. We’ll still win by 60.

Just seems like some of y’all want to find a reason to go after the coaches/players if they don’t meet your ridiculous expectations.

Just give me a win on Saturday, Idgaf how we get it.

When you have to start Nelson and Campbell, no game will be easy.
We don't HAVE to start Nelson and Campbell, we're choosing to.

I'm going to trust in the coaching staff until proven otherwise - it gets tiring second guessing every coaching decision.

If they fail, we sack them and start again - it's not like we're losing any momentum at this point. We're very much a sleeping giant that's been asleep for 15 years.

Watching that game I saw more of USCe trying to lose it more than UNC beating them. Muschamp is a terrible coach and it showed today. Miami has at least twice the talent of UNC. If they show up ready to play and not sleep walking they’ll be fine.

‼️‼️‼️THIS, THANK YOU

So... no banner this week?

LOL at people giving ultimatums after someone’s 2nd game as an HC.

The only way to know if Diaz can win the games he is supposed to, is to have enough data. Two games don’t tell you anything. Especially his first two games.

Yes UNC is a weak squad and we should beat them by at least a couple of scores. Him winning the game doesn’t tell us if he can consistently win against the teams he is supposed to. Bottom line is, unless some horrible catastrophe hits, he’s going to get two years minimum.

This shouldn’t be a close game. Keep this in mind. We held Florida to 50 yards rushing. Even without blitzing much look at the stats below. Howell should be in for a long long night.

So the look-ahead Vegas line was Miami -7 and that was before yesterday's showing by UNC. We are still starting perhaps the worst offensive tackle in the ACC, I challenge anyone to name a worst RT/LT starting combo than Nelson and Campbell. And don't give me that "they're young" ****. I watched a lot of football yesterday and didn't see a line as exposed in any game as much as ours was last week. This will be a game we need to be very focused for and we shouldn't go in expecting a 30 point win.

It's almost like you're giving him a chance to recruit his own players and train them up.

They will show up. Mack will have them ready. The home crowd will be in it. Hopefully Manny shows us something and brings a lit Miami team. Again, this game will say alot about Miami but I fully expect a battle.

I get your point, but 5-15 in last 20 games against power 5 teams doesn’t sound right. Are you sure about that stat?

You right. 5-10 in our last 15. 10-10 in last 20

They really looked a lot more together and inspired than I thought they would. They've got a really good frosh QB, a surprisingly stingy D and enough playmakers to score. Until today, I truly thought this game was going to be a blowout for us, but playing at their stadium, and playing the physical brand of football that they showed today, I really think this is going to be a hard fought game.

I've gone from my 30 point Cane blowout prediction to: Canes 30 vs UNC 23

Let's just get the W by hook or by crook and use the following month of non-conference games to get ready for the ACC gambit. This season's schedule is already feeling like it'll be more difficult and competitive than it did on paper during the offseason.

Thoughts?

They will give JW & our young OL so many looks that may force some bad decisions and lead to turnovers.

Let’s hope they’re overconfident...and maybe it’s better better to play them later, rather then sooner.
