The U v UCF?

Don't care what anyone says, UCF putting up a "2017 National Champions" sign in their football stadium is still one of the funniest things I've seen in sports. I've had to explain to my UCF buddies that we're not laughing with them, we're laughing at them.

As bad as that is, their claim is far more legitimate than Alabama's for 1941.

UCF isn't the only school to claim fake national titles. Alabama has at least three fake titles. They claim a title in a season where they lost 3 games and finished unranked in the AP poll.

The thing is, the NCAA doesn't award a national champion. There are dozens of polls out there (most of them you've never even heard of) and anybody who finishes #1 in ANY of those polls can claim a national title. Most schools don't recognize titles awarded by anybody outside of the AP poll, coaches poll, BCS or CFP. I know for a fact that Miami would have a claim to at least two more titles if they chose to recognize some meaningless poll that awarded them the final #1 ranking.

We aren't giving UCF a home and away. Nobody who matters is. Instead their AD will continue living in his little fantasyland and keep walking away from chances to schedule programs that matter (while their fanboys spew endlessly that everyone is "afraid" to play them) because he has this false ideal that they are an equal when they are not. If they had the confidence their idiot fans front like they do, they'd do anything it took to get games vs bigtime teams. But they won't, they'll just keep crying about it instead.
We gave southern miss and ark st a home and away but we won’t give UCF one? Lol

The new ACC Network/ESPN deal is about to make everyone in the conference richer. While I would not mind a series with UCF, Miami has all the bargaining chips in its favor and those chips are about to get even more valuable.

What I have to explain to the UCF fans is that scheduling football games is a business. For a major P5 program like Miami or Florida to schedule UCF, it's a risk. There's little to be gained by winning and lots to be lost by losing. When two parties come together on a business venture, the party assuming the most risk gets the most reward. The party assuming little risk makes less reward. You want Miami or Florida to assume the risk in playing UCF? You better believe they get the Lion's share of the reward (in this case, two home games to one game in Orlando). I wonder how Danny White would feel about scheduling a home and home with a smaller program that has nothing to lose? Maybe a home and home with Bethune Cookman would seem like an even deal for them? Unlikely.

Exactly. UCF wants to just jump into the big boy pool without earning it. For now, they should accept the 2-for-1 with UM, UF, FSU, and then if they manage to hold their own in those series, and continue to grow their fan bases and national recognition, then maybe in the future they'll be given a home and away.

As a USF grad, I can attest to the fact that those jabronis in Orlando have been delusional since at least as far back as 2007 (probably even before that). Their recent success has just exacerbated that undeserved arrogance.

If you want to step up and prove yourself with the big boys, you have to give a little. That's what Miami did back in the day, and that's what these ****** need to do now to be respected. It seems they aren't willing to do that though because they like their aluminum foil trophies and cubic zirconia championship rings

Yup. I went to UCF so I've made the drive dozens of times. From southeast Broward to UCF is right at 3 hours. Moving at a good clip with light traffic. I just went to Busch Gardens a couple weeks ago and that's right near USF it was a little over 3.5 hours.

Not saying UCF has a claim but we scheduled a home and home with Toledo,Ark St, and So Miss. a home and home with UCF is 100X more beneficial to us.
Toledo and Arkansas State were scheduled years ago. There is no home and home with Southern Miss. It is a one game deal in Miami.

No they are not and they refused to play us for a home and home with a 3rd game at a neutral site in Orlando.

**** UCF and people who support their lunacy.

We assume ALL THE RISK in that situation and they still refuse?

Again

**** that
