I don't know if Lane is the answer or not. I do have to address this though.

The NFL? What's that have to do with anything and when were the Raiders last relevant? That franchise is a dumpster fire.

USC would probably take him over Helton. Pretty average results there since their good years.

FAU, best coach they have ever had and it isn't even close. Finished 1st two out of three season. His overall record there drawfs anyone else.

Ole Miss. I wouldn't judge anyone on their record there. Traditional 6 or 7 win school. He's got them moving in the right direction it looks like.

He coached ONE year at Tennessee and was a blocked field goal away from upsetting Alabama that year, then he left to take over SC who was already on probation.
