The TD that wasn't

I don't know why there is instant replay to begin with. It is supposed to correct human error and get the CORRECT calls.

Last week the dumb-*** ACC review booth were too concerned with "what was the call on the field?"

Why does it matter? Look at the instant replay and make the correct call.

College football is the only sport where instant replay is utilized poorly.

In my opinion- two feet in with possession is great - but the minute the foot is Out of bounds - the player and play is dead. I am not sure that was interpreted correctly

Absolutely. If you are going to send replays up to ex-refs what's the point? Same poor interpretation. If we are going to rely on technology go all out - just train an AI on the rules and feed the replays to it. Almost certainly would do a better job

It’s amazing what fans see . I can go ask a ND fan and he’ll have 5-10 plays that they think kept us in the game. I know our OL got away with holds and ND’s did too. Also their db’s were mugging the wr’s. But I respect that , the refs won’t call it every play so make them call it. That’s why I just don’t waste my energy getting into the refs stuff. On top of that they was playing without half their defense. I prefer refs stay out of game especially late.
our OL got away with holding and still gave up 21 pressures.

Saw multiple throughout the game that could have been PI if the Miami player had any fight in them with the ball in the air.

Upshaw in end zone. Lofton seam route he doesn’t come back through defender and it hits him in the back. Dre Jacob’s got the PI call but still didn’t fight back hard enough, IMO.

Maybe as you walk to the bench, like 10 seconds after the play, you drop the ball to the ground. Incomplete catch? No possession? I have seen plays where the receiver catches the ball in the end zone, and immediately spikes it in celebration. No catch?
Fumble.
You have to take the ball to the showers.

Toe tapping then stepping out and trying to tuck the ball after going out isn't a football move in college where 1 foot is all you need for posession?
I’m in agreement that it looked like a football move to me. Clearly the ACC refs wanted to cost the ACC tens of millions. Yes, the second place ACC team is now officially out IMO. The best we can hope for is SMU to beat ND and Wake to beat SMU. This puts Miami vs wake with both potentially being 11-1 with wins vs ranked teams. Even then, the sec will demand 9-3 over 11-2.

I agree with this, 2 feet in bounds and then the next step is out of bounds, play is over.
