The TD that wasn't

If you are catching the ball in the EZ.......why would you make a "football move"? The goal of all those football moves is to get in the end zone. If you catch the ball in the EZ you've achieved the end goal and there is no need for a "football move". The arguments against it being a catch are absurd and call into question the cognitive function of those making them.

ACC refs are terrible. What is to be expected in a basketball conference?
I was screaming it all night....ND was holding constantly on both sides of the line with little or no penalties. This call was the absolute worst. Canes should have won the game. Cheerleader Blackledge should have worn a ND hat he was so obvious. 🤡

Need to hand the ball to the ref after the play now! That was ridiculous. Where was the live view of “The ACC Review Team” like they have been boasting about all season “behind the scenes for the sake of complete clarity”. I question everything about that play! It was a TD and this NBC broadcast is complete Irish sucking off crap!
Where was the “ACC Review Team” usually shown behind the scenes analyzing the play? Good question.....Why did NBC hide them?

That same pederast said that Lofton was "bobbling it". Words betray so much. By saying Lofton was bobbling it when he clearly was not he's admitting that he's not even looking at the replay, doesn't care what it shows, and just wanted a certain result.

He's part of NBC's crew. NBC aka the official network of ND football. What a joke that he's portrayed as some objective commentator.

Let’s not act like our little brothers up north. We’re Canes. Lay waste to our next three opponents and dominate whoever the **** we play in the ACC championship game

It was a touchdown, but honestly we didn’t deserve to win that game - valiant effort, but we need to build on the second half and win out. Excited to see what happens next week!
Didn’t “deserve” to win the game? Whatever are you talking about?

I think they’re saying the tuck was the football move and the tuck is where he loses it.

Still think the PI and targeting were far more egregious. Along with a few tackle from behind holds on their line that led to third down conversions and TD

I thought that once he went out of bounds, once his foot hit out of bounds the play was over.
Looked like a BS call.

You put up a clip from "awful announcing" to support your take that it wasn't a catch.
An awful announcer who's paid by NBC which is ND's official footbal network.

People who think it wasn't a TD are cognitively impaired. Anyone blathering about him need to make a "football move" shouldn't be allowed to drive a car and CPS just take their children as they are clearly too dumb to be trusted to care for them properly (no I'm not joking). Why in God's name would you want to or need to make a football move when you just caught a TD pass?

50/50 call, can argue either way, gotta just ****** hold on to it
Miami had 3 70/30 calls go the way of the 30 to end that game. Can’t leave the game
in the hands of the officials but that is egregious officiating. No PI, clear catch, targeting. The first two would have tied the game

If your argument is that we shouldn’t have been in the position for a ****** ref call to decide the game then ok.

If your argument is that the Lofton catch wasn’t a TD then you are just wrong. I don’t care who you are, I don’t care of you’re a protected poRster, you’re just wrong.

I think its bs on the first one too…Games will be close when two top teams play each other, especially a rivalry game. The situation shouldn’t matter for the right call to be made

After his foot was out of bounds.
I would like to see what the rule says when your foot touches out of bounds. I could have sworn it says the play is dead at that moment. Like when the VT guy caught the ball against us in the end zone but his butt was out of bounds when he touched the ball.

As much as it sucks the game was irrelevant. Win out and see what happens.
Not folding being down 24-3 tells me a lot about the team.
