Here is what Mario thinks of that call.
Per the rules, he has to make a football move: fend off a defender, tuck the ball, pitch the ball or be able to. He did none of those. All he has to do was tuck it and if 28 ripped it out after the tuck it doesn’t matter.
Kept control long enough to perform an act common to the game, such as tucking it, turning upfield, or warding off a defender (Rule 2-4-3-a).
So the defender is allowed to defend a dead ball?No
Be incomplete pass
So how is a WR toe dragging on the sideline enough to establish a a football move since their momentum is going out of bounds, or to pitch, or ward off a tacklerView attachment 379554
I think it comes down to whether the third step that landed out of bounds = "maintains control of the ball long enough to enable that player to perform an act common to the game"?
Coach seems to think it does, so that's good enough for me, lol.

this has shades of the Cleveland Gary fumble that wasn't. i swear every time we play up there something controversial always happens
You’re referring to when a player actually has his hand on the ball as they both fall out of bounds. The hit didn’t occur until Loftin’s foot was firmly out of bounds, which should’ve ended the play
The non-PI on Upshaw play before though is a pretty bad, and huge, no-call. Guy couldn’t use either arm. Not just one but BOTH. Never seen that not called when my guy’s hands never got to go up lol Not even one. Please don’t do this ref ****. I’m so over it from all fan bases using it as cope. There’s 120 plays in a game and a penalty on every play. Injuries and refs are part of the game. Oh and that’s not a catch . We was outplayed and the better team this night won. Finish business and we can get some get back.
When did ball start to come loose?
Everybody is missing the play before that, as I did in real time, and was wondering why Mario was going nuts on the sideline. The receiver could even get a single arm up to make an attempt at the ball.
The TD should have been poetic justice for that, but when they called it incomplete on the field, there was no chance for that to go our way…regardless of your perspective on the rule.
