The Super Awesome Nightmare Scenario

The Canes beat Pitt. Michigan State beats Michigan.

Then Manny can say the following:

* Losses to 2 top five teams: Alabama and Michigan State
* Loss due to a freshman kicker missing a 33 yard field goal
* Loss due to a freshman QB making his first start.
* Beat the two toughest conference opponents on the schedule.

Time to extend Manny's contract. :quagfinal:
Don’t you put that hex on us

I think St beats Michigan today. I also bet Miami ML on a parlay. I figure Mandy will win to spite us.

that's like taking the hottest ever chick home from the bar, she excuses herself to 'change into something more comfortable' and comes back out wearing a strap on. Your friends are proud of you but don't know the real story. hopefully you nope'd the **** out of there.

I want this team to beat Pitts *** and win out. The Manny thing will be what it is If the kids love for Manny is what propels us to win out. So be it. We keep forgetting that we have been this exact team for 16 years and counting.

If people are stupid enough to think dIAZ will turn the program around cause he beat an overrated team then you should be hired at Miami in the admin department and get a hefty pay raise. He has been here 5-6 years. dEFENSE still sucks, cant recruit quality LBs since he has been here. Dont forget how bad the CB room was for awhile. bad tackling, bad scheme, bad angles, bad pretty much everything during the season. But he is the off season champ
He needs to be able to show the administration the team has actually improved down the stretch. I have serious doubts he can do that.

But hey, I want to see our guys win more than I want Manny fired. If we don't win and improve, I'll be glad to see him shown the door.

The extension part isn’t reality.. but yeah I’d be cool with winning today. Nice little crisp Saturday.

Go Canes!

He can say that if it happens .... but realistically, I can't see how Miami beats Pitt today.

Crap weather, defensively sound team (fundamentally) and Canes rolling in big-headed after last week's win—which in itself was a fluke; the Wolkpack dropping balls, getting hosed on a deep fumble recovery (when kid lost his hat), etc.

If Manny and these kids have deluded themselves into thinking they Canes are somehow back on track after that win—they're in for a long day at Pitt.

Canes' offense score 16 and 14 the last two trips there and can't see how they score more than 20-24 today, at best—while Pittsburgh should be able to put 30+ on this fundamentally-unsound defense.

But to your point, that is exactly a scenario Manny would roll out — as well as a fifth point; blaming injuries across the board; King, Chaney, Harris, et al.

And he would be correct

Miami didn't lose to Virginia because of a freshman kicker's whiff or to North Carolina because of a freshman quarterback's tipped ball.

It was the 59 minutes before those two plays that caused UM to lose. Showing up flat, mental errors, mistakes, penalties and a defense that forgot how to tackle, or how to get a stop to give the offense momentum after a score.

Diaz was out-coached, out-classed and didn't have his team ready to play either of those games—against very beatable ACC teams.

To his credit, his kids were ready for NC State—and got their share of breaks to pull it out (dropped balls, turned over fumble when kid lost helmet).

Miami was nowhere near ready to play Alabama, Appalachian State, Michigan State, Virginia or North Carolina—and that all falls on Diaz—as does the ugliest stat of the season; worst-tacking team in college football.

F this yahoo and his padded stat arguments.

If you #1 objective is to get Blake and Manny fired you almost have to root for a loss today.

The back end of our schedule is full of winnable games and there’s a real chance, as bad as Manny is, we talent our way to 6 wins in a row to end the season if we win today.

There has never been a more confusing time to be a Cane fan.
I want Miami to go in to Pitt and punch them in the face.
I want Miami to win out.
I want a real HC that game plans.
I want an OC that adapts the play calling.
I want a DC with a defense that tackles.
I want to see the Canes beat mediocre teams by 28 points.
I dont want to see teams like UVA punk us in our own stadium.
I want to see ESPN Gameday on a Thursday night with a packed house at the Rock and get a W on the national stage.
I dont think this is too much to ask for.

I like the way you think
I mean we all agree we want Manny gone

Is it “best” for the team if we go out and get crushed by Pitt? I guess so

A lot of people are looking at this situation as a lose-lose and I get that. To me it’s more a win-win

But if people are rooting for us to lose, that’s their business and I get why I’m just not really into it
