The Status of our Beloved CANES

Well as the ultimate homer yeah and keep wanting to have all this fixed in 7 months and have it translate into the field but what we are seeing on the field is the stuff we saw in the spring games. We will struggle at the point of attack and rely on smoke and mirrors this year.
Dude do yourself and everyone else a favor. Burn your Cane gear go root for Bama or Clemson and never post your mindless dribble here again. I really hope this is a troll job by you because if not you truly are a sad and negative individual....

Nah wish it was to be honest here and the last 7 months have been good from a physical standpoint but skill wise and upfront we still soft as ****.

Look I’ve been all over our O-line, played the position in college. I understand, the Canes we’ll never be great again until we get a great O-line (just look at the top five teams this season). But I believe this year’s will be improved, tougher (TNM) and it will be going against a pretty new D-Line for the Gators, also. Is it enough, maybe not.

But, with that said consider from where it all started going South last year, at LSU:

Miami had more total yards (342-296). The D gave up a long TD run during a substitution at a critical point, and our punter had three punts of less than 25 yards giving LSU excellent field possession on our side of the 50.

But while the game was being contested, none of our coaches was even as good as an average high school coach in adjusting on the fly, to LSU's gap blitzes (most of which came untouched), so we gave up 4 sacks lots of hurries and we had 2 turnovers. They didn't get away with those in their SEC games.

I’m optimistic that with an actual OC (Who knows SEC play) and new O-line coach, adjustments will be made, rather than just hoping it will work itself out.

Obvious condescending troll with generic Miami name is obvious...

The gators have more experienced offensive linemen than Miami - absolutely. But 4 of them didn’t win starting roles last year. So in theory there is a big step back coming. Ask us how awesome a Georg Brown and Tommy Kennedy are to have around...

Miami’s defensive line today is 2 deep with potentially 5 DEs and 5 DTs who will win playing time on their own merit.

Miami’s interior offensive line today is stout and I have zero concerns there, even depth wise I’m fine with the interior. Our tackles today appear weak but can move and mirror. They are going to need quick passes and tight ends helping them out.

i expect both Miami and Florida to struggle blocking in the first game.

At QB Miami can’t be worse than last year just through having an actual OC, QB coach, another year of practice and having Martell add talent to the competition.

If you want to troll Miami you’re going to have to do better.

is not so promising after just 5 practices and the issues that plagued CMR schematically on the offense side of the ball are still there. For instance, the OL is so below the level of a top tier Power 5 Blue Blood Program that a true FR is playing left tackle for us. Now granted, as the absolute diehard and homer that I am I do remember a youngster from TX named Andy Fox but from what I have seen at the last two practices Zion is no Andy Fox. To be more specific, the only guy I see playing at the next level from this group is Donaldson and at best he is a second day take for an NFL franchise. Then at QB its the same issues and although on paper there is more talent from this current trio, Tate has to be better than Rosier, he still has done nothing at the highest level of college football and continues to throw ducks all over the field and cannot hit a man in stride on a crossing pattern. No matter what scheme you want to run if the guys upfront look like chicken shi! instead of chicken salad you cant win consistently at this level of football as execution will be exactly what we have seen the last few years which is the epitome of inconsistency.

This reality will impact the defense and as the season goes they will get worn out once again. My "HOMER" goggles convinces me that our depth at just about every position on that side of the ball is much improved but the LB position cannot afford any injuries whatsoever if we are gonna be on the field over sixty percent of the game. Some may argue that we have a punter now and my explanation is once again we have a liability there as for every good punt I have seen its been followed by 3 bad ones and to add to the mix he is now day to day. He's gotta be brought in and fine tuned as there is no need for him to get hurt doing all the things real players do. His positional and hang time work has been better than his deep work which at times has been unacceptable. So in summary TNM looks a lot like the old MIAMI and at best we win 8 games and I predict the TURDS will win in week zero and that absolutely will suck to start my football season. No matter what happens this year or the nest I'll always pay my $200.00 a month for our tickets and cheer on my CANES just praying that somehow some way the glory days will return to my beloved 305.
Hey OP.......STFU.

Well my psycho friend I was sent an interesting message about you a few weeks back regarding your constant bashing of my opinions here. They mentioned you had a fake avatar and that you are a regular at Jackson’s psych ward via countless Baker Acts. They also mentioned that you go to games and just roam from one tailgate to the next mooching off others and in the end a few people have taken pity on you and given you a free ticket or two. One of them even took you in with him and you took his picture on your flip phone and used his pic as your avatar on all your social media sites which you utilize while making your daily visit to local library. In short pleas leave me alone and NO I don’t do any canesites other than this site which I just recently joined.
This is hilarious. The guy in the picture is not me, never claimed it was. If he wants to reveal himself that's up to him, but he posts here. Its an inside joke between friends, something you wouldn't know anything about since you have none.

Well you maybe right but you can’t tell me you are comfortable that our current OL will yield major results with no stud qb to nullify their weaknesses individually and collectively. We don’t have enough horses up Front
Yet you seem to be comfortable that your Gators current very weak OL will somehow do better at yielding major results with no stud qb to nullify their weaknesses individually and collectively. Your gators also don't have enough horses up front....and they will be facing a better d-line (ours) than the Canes O-line will be facing

It’s been 7 months and yeah we all see the impact Feeley has had but that didn’t mask each individuals lack of talent up front. We are still way too soft there and that’s where you win or lose a game even with smoke and mirrors.

I'm not disagreeing....what you seem to be missing is that we have been soft up there for quite some time now, and you want an overnight fix.

You say your not new to UM ball...so a new S&C Coordinator isn't going to fix poor technique. Barry is likely having to unteach some poor habits (or at least ones that haven't worked) while he has some nice blank canvases with Freshman. Give him some time. He may just be another average OL guy pretending, but we won't know that for sure this early.

Wait..... you mean Gru isn’t his friend anymore?

Well it is what it is and TNM is a farce so far.
So no credence given to our new OC. Or our strength and conditioning? Or the fact that we have a passionate leader at the helm, as opposed to the stoic Richt or the automaton-like Shannon? Or that we became a destination under the new transfer rules?

Nothing is different? Nothing?!

You are a PUSS AHH NIKKA!!

The problem isn't that you're saying things with which I disagree, it's that you're so fcking condescending about it. You know this and you know that...you don't actually know anything. You have the same spotty-*** information gleaned from people who get to see part of practice. The truth is we'll know very little about this team until they take the field. So go ahead and do your negative nancy routine, just spare me the nonsense about how you know anything.

You are entitled to your opinion and I get what you are saying but after all I’ve seen the last seven months the good still doesn’t outweigh the bad based on talent and ability. Monday was very disappointing to see once again first hand that we are soft on the oline
