The State of Florida & Elite Recruits

So someone tell me if this is real because it’s what I heard.

Tri county alone produces easily over 100 d1 football scholarships.
Some of these kids are getting chased by the top spending schools and adults automatically se them as a a commodity.
As soon as a kid’s talent starts to become evident they get catch the attention of people that start providing transportation meals work outs and coaching.

And due to the sheer numbers of players that this state puts out; a lot of them played college and or pro ball and use that as a marketing strategy and as a plug to certain schools.
And most of those parents can’t pay these people for their help.

Now put yourself in Miami’s situation right smack dab in the middle of all these personalities.

If Uga or Texas need to recruit a db and a 5 star is available then you just have to court one group of people.

But if you want to recruit 5 or 6 players from down here then you are also recruiting g their people who spent years training and “helping” the kid and family.

Now the same thing happens in other places, but not to the level it does here.
“It’s almost an entire subculture” as I was told.

That’s why you never see a school “clean up” down here. It’s too much money.

dont blame them at all. after all the trash bags moved to SFL during COVID and artificially inflated the living costs and housing market here to make it unlivable for those that are from here. go chase that bag if you can
Yep. Personally I definitely can't fault the survivors mentality, but as it pertains to my Canes fandom I hate it as its a direct negative cause/effect.

Did some fact checking not including IMG:

2025: 3/10 stayed in state (All went to UF)
2024: 7/10 stayed in state (3-us, 2-UF, 2-FSU)
2023: 2/10 stayed in state (1-UF, 1-FSU)
2022: 3/10 stayed in state (2-FSU, 1-us)
2021: 3/10 stayed in state (2-us, 1-UF)
2020: 3/10 stated in state (1-us, 1-UF, 1-FSU)

35% success rate of keeping non-IMG Top 10 ranked FL players in state.
thanks. Outisde of 2024 its pretty much un acceptable.

This year appears trending towards maybe 4 -5 out of 10 though the big 3 have recruited the state better im seeing.

Its been getting outrecruited by SEC/Big 10, or not evaluating properly.

Imagine this talent split among the Big 3: records would have been much better last 10 plus years.

Just to name a few
All due to the NCAA TURNING A BLUND EYE and allowing the SEC to operate with Carte Blanche. The only team the disciplined during that tenure was Ole ****. Also the tainted school and ATM had some BS going on, but I wont really hold it against certain schools. Just for kids signing autographs and getting paid. Although it would have launched a full investigation into our program. Others just got a slap on the wrist.

Was just about to point out how we love making the SEC excuse but Florida is actually in the SEC and the Top 10 kids in the state aren’t flocking to go play there yearly 👀👀
Most are still going to SEC schools though. Just like we found a diamond in the rough some years back. Latrell Williams a WR. He was all set become a CANE and out of the blue he’s a F’ING VOL. Didnt do much there, but we been fighting this SEC LORE for a while. Also had we still been winning we could have curtailed some of that mass exodus.

Unfortunately at times our 3 stars have played at 3* level or lower.

It’s not that the conference gives a distinct recruiting advantage to its members, it’s more so the schools at the very top w/ great success/infastrucure happen to be in the SEC, think about it there’s like 4 schools in each conference that hoard all the top talent, the entire conference isn’t landing elite players, same goes for BIG10..Minnesota/Miss/Olemiss/Vandy/Rutgers ain’t ******* with US in recruiting & we’re in the “lowly” ACC 🤷🏾‍♂️, If we decide to Spend like Texas we can most def land top 5 classes, even in the ACC

Gotta get with the program then.
