It's well documented that Miami has struggled to keep the elite local kids home for the better part of 20 years, but looking deeper it seems have become an issue for the Big 3 and elite Florida talent leaving the state…

Its been getting outrecruited by SEC/Big 10, or not evaluating properly.

Imagine this talent split among the Big 3: records would have been much better last 10 plus years.

Facts, Mindblowing how other states pretty much lock down their Elites, but we got JJ putting on for Ohio, Cooper becoming a Bama Legend w/ Surtain & Rridley, Georgia taking our Elite backs.....Imagine Derek Stingley going to play anywhere but LSU :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: must be nice..

So what I'm starting to understand is that uf is actually more disappointing than us or fsu because they're actually in the sec....and doesn't the sec holds more weight?? So by that logic, they should be dominating the state in recruiting easily every year.....

Was just about to point out how we love making the SEC excuse but Florida is actually in the SEC and the Top 10 kids in the state aren’t flocking to go play there yearly 👀👀

The big 3 in Florida have done nothing significant on the national stage for the last 15 years, sans a couple conference championships and a Natty by FSU. Combine the success of the SEC and Big Ten over that same timeframe and not hard to see why players are bouncing.

And Orlando and Tampa are up in talent and are traditionally Gator leaning areas.

Losing players and the state has been generally down (football-wise) since 2020.

Out of the top ten Florida recruits since 2020

2025 3/10 stayed in state
2024 3/10 stayed in state
2023 1/10 stayed in state
2022 2-10 stayed in state
2021 3/10 stayed in state
2020 3/10 stayed in state

So out of 60 of them since 2020 Only 15 decided to stay and play for a Florida school..🤔🤔🤔

To be clear I’m talking about the elite talent, im sure lower rated guys stay home at a higher rate

In addition to the above points, all three schools have made horrible coaching hires, including coaches who lacked elite recruiting skills. Miami obviously was the first, as DMoney’s current series is detailing, but both FSU and UF have had their issues too.

Bowden was starting to fail in his last years, although Jimbo picked it up a bit. Taggart and Norvell were / are horrible. At UF, Zook and Urban were good, but since then it’s been awful.

All three schools, pre-NIL, also were unable to compete with certain other SEC schools’s bagmen.

this i sskewed if any of the top 10 are img kids as those kids are boarding school kids and predominantly not instate.

It's not nearly as much about conference as alot of yall want to believe.

Kids want to go to good programs and win. Simple as that.

Post pandemic migration definitely has not helped us
specifically for SFL, it hasn't helped that the income disparity is insane where normal families are priced out/forced out due to rising costs of living that have far out paced average salaries in SFL. no one who works a normal job in SFL can afford SF/NYC COL without the SF/NYC salary.

combine that with rising insurance costs for homes and property taxes. youre better off selling and moving elsewhere (**** you make more on average in ATL than you do in Miami and you still pay less in COL)

Facts. The economics have forced our recruiting strategy to go more national. And the families who stayed put have only become that much more desperate for the highest bag, its survival for them (cough cough Derek Cooper's mom)

dont blame them at all. after all the trash bags moved to SFL during COVID and artificially inflated the living costs and housing market here to make it unlivable for those that are from here. go chase that bag if you can

Did some fact checking not including IMG:

2025: 3/10 stayed in state (All went to UF)
2024: 7/10 stayed in state (3-us, 2-UF, 2-FSU)
2023: 2/10 stayed in state (1-UF, 1-FSU)
2022: 3/10 stayed in state (2-FSU, 1-us)
2021: 3/10 stayed in state (2-us, 1-UF)
2020: 3/10 stated in state (1-us, 1-UF, 1-FSU)

35% success rate of keeping non-IMG Top 10 ranked FL players in state.
