YES I am one of them, I swear if I ever run into El General gonna punch him dead in the mouth for starting that crap. Bunch of latinos not good enough to sing “salsa” (which is not really music but the way they snuck Cuban music into the US) and not good enough to rap so they came up with that hot mess that is “reggaeton” with the same stupid beat over and over.

And yes I get the hypocrisy of me bashing that monstrosity they call “reggaeton” after going on a diatribe about close mindedness and all, but it’s garbage and I am ok with it. There’s not even any reggae in the **** music, it’s an insult to reggae as well…..

All Reggae sounds the same so maybe that’s why it’s called Reggaeton

Exactly. At least play real Country music, i.e. Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and other “outlaw” period Country musicians. None of the contrived trash that passes for Country music these days.

Less so because it was played...Moreso because the whole stadium went BA BA BA and clapped like seals for it.

M-Dot stinks, too. Hire a real PA announcer and run a professional operation - Frank Fernandez who also does the Marlins and the World Baseball Classic would be that dude.

And playing Sweet Caroline and a couple classic rock songs is not antithetical to south Florida culture. It adds a fun little mix.

In regards to "Sweet Caroline", I'm going to say the same thing I say to old asses that whine whenever rap is played:

YOU AREN'T THE ONLY PERSON IN THE **** STADIUM, EVERY SONG ISN'T GOING TO BE SOMETHING YOU LIKE. It's on the University to play music that is appealing to a wide swath of our fanbase, which, unlike most schools, is a unique mixture of people. We have older people that enjoy "Sweet Caroline", we have young people that love EDM, we have people that love hip-hop, and we have people that tend to like a little bit of everything. If a song plays that isn't your jam, use it as an opportunity to chill, talk to your people or get a drink.
