The Search Committee Recommends who off this list?...

I wouldn't interview Butch and would use my 6th spot to squeeze in another candidate. If I miss on all 6 I call Butch

Below but not in order

And other than Butch and maybe Mullen, none of the others would even consider leaving current team for us. And if Butch was such a great hire, I would have to believe other schools would be after him. Wake up people, we are not even close to a top level team where we can be picky with coaches beating down the door to come here. Other than the weather, we don't have much t offer anymore.
 
Strong, Richt, Stoops, Rich Rod. Don't need the other 2. If you can't land any of those 4, then fold the program. It's going to be one of those 4 or Chud. PM whoop for the info.

I think this is the guy who will get hired
for the following reasons (and from UM's
perspective):

1) HC experience
2) Is familiar with soFla recruiting scene
3) Has ties to UM from his Butch days
4) Doesn't have the toxicity that Butch has
5) Close to Mario, may even include him on his staff
6) No buyout needed to get him

He's not in my top 5-10 list.
But I think in the minds of UM decision-makers he will be
an attractive choice because they will view him as someone
who will please the Mario and Butch people, yet come in
with experience and no level of NCAA toxicity.
In other words, a compromise.

Also, it's been rather quiet on the Schiano rumor front.
No one is "leaking" anything about him.
Reminds me of the days leading up to Golden hire.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fedora bolts after this season, and he's a good one.
But I don't see UM poaching a fellow ACC school.
I wouldn't do it either.

Yeah. I just don't get the super Herman hype whereas Fedora has done a phenomenal job in a power five conference. I love that he canned his DC and hired Chizik. He's doing a great job there. From Gundy tree too.

People forget that Fedora had done a bang-up job at Southern Miss.
Even beat Sumlin (Houston) for the ConfUSA championship.
Solid coach.
I would love to have him coach the Canes, but that ain't happening.
We would have to leave the ACC if we do. LOL.

I'm not a fan of the way LSU plays on offense. I hate it, actually. I also think their D will be different without Chavis.

And I think Miles is on the decline.

I don't have Fuente or Herman on the list because I believe that both are signed, sealed elsewhere. Both would find a spot in my top 10.

Yeah, I have a gut feeling (no insight) that Schiano, not Butch, is James's true "fallback" option if the swing-for-the-fences guys(e.g., Kelly) don't pan out and Strong (ugh) and Richt don't get fired.

I think he'd be great too. Not my #1 , but definitely in my top 3 of the non-Kelly types.
