The safety position

Outside of what we brought in , which had been great i love that we have quality depth at the position . Day would come in and there would be no drop off. I would like to see O’Conner and Brantley if he can come back from injury get a shot at nickel those guys got juice

Like clockwork on CIS. Group outperforms and when is coach whoever gone? Dawson gonna be the next coach at Florida? Maybe the Raiders?

Im also happy with the direction of the secondary.
Need to reload on the Dline though. QB pressures up front help with that secondary coverage.

I know we’re going to miss Jakobe but this secondary having another year of playing together and experience under their belts excites me for next year
 
Day had a couple rough plays against VT, but he can be really good IMO. I think Day and Pruitt will be ready to play next year with Poyser and Fitz.
 
i have a hard time believing we hold onto OJ, Damari, Ethan O, and Xavier. Though we had a healthy rotation, they will be sought after for starter money, so my hope is to retain 3 of these 4.

Most often praised seem to be Ewald and Antoine. Both would have started on previous Miami teams. Wallace was making some noise at one point but haven’t read anything lately. We also have some total studs coming in this 2026 class.

Will be interesting to see what Day and Mack do. Do they stay and fight for snaps or hit the portal? And of course every team will be after our starters behind the scene.

1st one that comes to mind is yesterday on Pitts TD drive,the play where they gave Pitt the TD but the RB was tackled inside the 1,go watch Days effort and angle on that play and tell me you want him as 1 of our starting safeties.
 
Fitz/Poyser combo with Poyser moving to more of a SS role is awesome....plus our CBs returning we should have one of the best secondaries in the country
 
Is Pruitt a full time safety now? Is it finally official? BC it was reported that way, but then earlier this year I saw LB snaps. Although obviously when dealing with safeties, lbs, and nickels in today's game and in this defense where they line up is often gray area
