Besides one or two exceptions in 3 seasons (I can think of), we have played down almost every game. You can count the number of equally talented opponents we have faced on one hand, but need an abacus to list inferior teams we've lost to or barely eeked by.

Not talking about Xs and Os or schemes here, just basic elements of a quality performance (or lack thereof)

Coming out flat, a lack of preparation, execution and confidence, mental breakdowns, a utter lack of urgency, etc.

No improvement, more often actual regression, for entire units (QB, OL, STs) which have been sup par to awful from the start in 2016.

This despite a Defense which continuously plays "up" and performs on an elite level (overcoming a huge disadvantage the team as a whole puts them in weeklg).

This is what frustrates me to no end. You could feel the UVA loss coming from the kickoff, the same no show performance we saw vs Pitt, LSU and the wins vs GT, Cuse, UVA and UNC in '17, ad nauseum.

This playing down thing has to be on the HC. It cant be all lack of skill or depth, as we see inferior teams outperform us regularly. Bad 1st, 2nd and 3rd string QBs play like Brady compared to ours, bad D's manhandle our OL, everyone's STs best ours (Is there an exception? Maybe UNC this year?). How come the UVAs and Pitts don't have our personnel issues?

Maybe it really is the QB situation, being so bad it deflates our overall performance, but I'd say that's a symptom of coaching and playcalling .

OK, rant over. Someone tell me that we change course, come out executing, show a sense of urgency, and outperform a lesser BC team. And if possible, tell me why we should expect such a 180.

He has shown no ability or interest in changing, so I doubt it. I had hope initially that getting his a$$run out of GA on a rail would lite the Cane in him but clearly it has not. That doesn’t mean he and team are not smarting from the heat on this and other sites. They could play more intense but the slow starts seem to be written in stone.

One great thing the UVA loss did was bring in all these great fans who never post when things are going well. It’s been a blast getting to know all these hardcore fans who only show up when the meat is decaying like vultures.

Spot on and frankly it's been this way for several years, Richt's just carried on the tradition. It's maddening to watch this team play week in and week out with their lack of passion and attitude. Watching them you get the sense that you as a fan care more than the players or coaches do.

It's not even about your points. Some of the points you make here are legit. It's the way you come on strong when we lose, but disappear when we win. It's just dumb.

how's fuente looking now? also, this is part of the issue i have w all these fire richt posts bc NO ONE brings in a viable alternative that will guarantee a turn around. we all know this fan base won't accept another up and comer esp if he struggles (fuente is the most recent one). put forth a viable altnerative and maybe these threads will actually go somewhere. also, no butch -- dude is done and his success 20 years ago wont translate to today esp w how recruiting has changed.
