I think this might lead to miami firing golden. social media is pushing this hard. a randy was a cane and performed better than golden his last 2 years. the race issue might force them to pull the trigger. Gosh, the year shannon was 9-4 he lost to all really good teams. better than goldens 9-4

I think the race issue here is a complete made up fabrication by some really bored people. That being said, I hope they throw that ******* out on his face!

using Race is for ***ing losers.....randy was fired because he ******* BLEW....
Golden has enough issues to get him fired no need to bring out the race baiting ********...you are dealing with Donna a leftist ******* PIG...

Randy got 4 years and failed. Golden is on year 4 and has failed. 4 years is a good barometer in deciding if a coach is good. Both are terrible in different was. Randy has not sniffed another head coaching position since he was fired that tells you something.

Legitimately claiming (which i don't think 95% of people actually believe but just foolishly see it as a means to an end) that race is at play now is as dumb as claiming it was at play when Randy was hired. If Lil Donna is a racist she is in liberal terms which wouldn't facilitate giving Golden the benefit of the doubt that Corch wasn't given. People like Donna dole out "help" and "advantages" to minorities because their form of racism sees that as the only way they can succeed. The "elite" know best!

Sad. Trafficking in the horror of racism for something as silly in the big picture as wanting a coach gone is sad. My **** my family has suffered being exploited for a laugh is disgusting. **** each and everyone who thinks its funny.

I'm all for firing Al, but this approach is bull****, cowardly and disrespectful to all those who really have suffered and those that continue to suffer.

Allow me to explain the race issue for the mouthbreathers, who on this site need their hands held on every topic:

The issue is not that they fired the black coach. Everyone knows he deserved to be fired. The issue is that the white coach, who has done worse overall in the same time frame, is for some reason being excused/given a pass when the black coach was crucified.

This is a results business and in year 4 Al Golden is worse than the guy he replaced, but b/c he wears a tie and speaks like a white man, people assume he's smarter/better/more capable.

I don't agree with the whole premise of "using the race card". What the fck is a "race card" anyway? The whole term "race card" is so disrespectful to any person of color who has suffered real injustices in this country. Are there a few boys whom have cried wolf? Sure. But to dismiss the scores of bloodied and maimed sheep carcasses scattered about the hillside is irresponsible at best. Thus, the "use" of the "race card" in this particular instance connotes that the practice of "playing the race card" is so widespread as to invalidate all legitimate claims of injustice made by persons of color. It is a bullsh1t term designed to "water down" all claims of racial injustice so that the progenitor of such sleeps better at night.

So fck this bullsh1t notion of a "race card", a cheap and gimmicked "move" as in a game played for fun. Look at this country's history as it pertains to persons of color....it isn't some fck'g game. Fck a race card and fck Alfraud Golden.....

I actually think there is a tinge of racism involved. Say what you want, but the tie wearing, great hair having, well spoken coach is probably deemed as a great face for the university. They can hide behind the excuse of the NCAA all they want, but there is no denying that there is clearly more to the support Golden has than Randy did at this same time.

Is winning a priority or not? If winning is not a priority for the school, then why fire Randy Shannon? If it is a priority then why not fire Al Golden. In my opinion there is more to the support Golden has from the admins. It may not be overt but its there.

I do understand the distaste some have for using it to get Golden fired though.

Feel like I'm logging into MSNBC for a daily dose of mob rage with all the social injustice talk.

Is there merit to some of the arguments about race being a factor? Yeah, probably. Doesn't change the fact Shannon needed to go as does Al.

Both coaches fail/ed to get the job done. End of story.

Results not race.

You are failing to see the actual premise though. They didn't fire Randy b/c he was black. They fired him bc they perceived he didn't know what he was doing.

But Al, despite a worse record than Randy after the same amount of time, is for some reason given the benefit of the doubt b/c he "speaks well" and "represents the university".

This isn't about firing Randy, its about not firing the white guy who is no different from Randy.

If only the geniuses on CIS could realize that the people pushing the race card right now were some of the biggest Shannon haters. If only the geniuses would realize the premise of this argument.
