Done means Done.
It's dumb to use that word when it isn't true, and it's not just the so-called insiders.
Other folks who post stuff make it seem like it is first-hand information, when in fact they read or heard
it somewhere else....I am referring to the lame "I'm hearing..." schtick.
Just say where you got the info from, and move on.

I think these false reports are affecting the hiring process. The school is trying to get an OC to put pen to paper and suddenly other schools try to poach the candidate and posters criticize the hire. Just wait till the guy is confirmed before announcing he's confirmed!!
 
Is there still fire where there’s smoke?
I’m hearing an aweful lot of chatter and can confidently confirm that that’s still a thing.
