Highlights The Opening Finals; June 24th to June 26th

“Cornerbacks, if they’re locking up and not getting a ton of action, it probably means they’re doing a good thing in these 7-on-7 settings. And that was Wright today. He was rarely tested, but we focused on him a lot. He was great this morning during the camp-style workout and then, during 7-on-7 play, he had multiple pass breakups. Wright is the prototypical cornerback. He’s got an athletic, twitchy build and really good short-level quickness. He’s physical but not too grabby and not over-aggressive. Wright is the No. 2 cornerback in the class for us but he’s trending up.” – Greg Biggins

Sometimes you can tell the biases of which service is which.. They worried about the wrong thing, kid is legit 6'4+ and has arm talent and everything you want.. Give him his 5th star dammit..
I don't know if they're biased or not. More likely, as you suggest, they are looking at the wrong thing. QB is about skill, vision, football IQ unlike other positions where your build determines a lot.

While putting on some pounds might be a good idea for Abrams, his skill is what is going to make him a good QB, not his weight. And from all appearances he has skill in abundance.

Yeah I don’t watch much highlights this early with QBs. In shorts and whatnot somewhat useless (normally) but this kid has a ridiculous arm

There’s a few clips I’ve seen of his that I swore have to be sped up or manipulated
Quick ahh release looks like a video game for real. The fact that he is undefeated in HS while being able to elevate in his play in a 55-54 game last year against 5* qb Trae Taylor, who has gotten rave reviews from people who know a lot more about quarterbacking than me, has me feeling confident.

He also beat Trae’s HS in his 2nd start of his HS career. Back to back state champion and first undefeated season at his HS in a decade. He transferred into the school knowing they had a returning senior quarterback too. Senior started off 2-0, lost back to back games, then Izzy went 10-0 to finish the season off. This past junior year he had a 59% or above completion percentage in every game; no games with more INTs than TDs (6 INTs and 40 TDs on the year).

He isn’t an overtrained since birth kid, talks and walks like a ‘Cane, and the numbers match the eye test. Lot to love about his potential.

My *****……….the #1 cornerback in the country ain’t even in the frame for 2nd half of the rep.

Our WR core about to be on whole other level ….. and their greatness will speed up the development of our inexperienced DB room next season. The early enrollees are going to get some good reps in against the real 1s going to the league this winter

–Israel Abrams, 5-Star QB (Miami commit): Abrams had some up-and-down moments throughout 7v7 play, but finished amongst the top of the signal-callers with 178 passing yards and four touchdowns, leading the Southeast to the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. Abrams was not as efficient as his nearly-flawless Elite 11 performance, posting eleven completions to twenty-four attempts plus an interception. However, the bright moments flashed with the same creative brilliance that we've grown accustomed to from the high-ceiling passer.

–Donte Wright, 5-Star CB (Miami commit): Wright was rarely tested throughout 7v7 action and was our favorite corner for the No. 1 seed West squad across multiple games. Wright's quiet and clean performance in 7v7 serves as a nice appetizer ahead of Friday's bracket play, where he is sure to see more action his way as pressure ramps up.

To be fair, he seems to have either slipped or Eli stepped on his foot or both, but doesn't seem like the separation was due to the route.

Definitely seems like he stepped on his foot, BUT Meredith was beaten and in trouble before he slipped.
