The one that got away....

Too many to mention. We lose more quality south Florida kids than we get. Off the top, Cook, Freeman, A.Cooper, Bosa, Collins, Michel, M.Thomas, L.Joyner, Major Wright, Valentine...

Despite our defense, TB would've had us as a title contender last year. With the weapons we had, he would've been special here the last two years. I truly believe that. All these other guys like Cook, TV, Thomas, etc haven't done a **** thing and are not program changers like TB would have been.

Patrick Johnson wouldn't make the five year cut so I guess Alex Collins would be number two based on need. Not a close two though....it's TB and then number two is way down below.

Teddy would have been program changing. An African American qb from the Miami area staying at home would have been huge. Everyone else is speculation such as Cook, Valentine, JC Jackson (they haven't done a **** thing).

Uh, didn't we already have that? and it wasn't so huge.

In fact, we had African-American QBs at UM from Miami going back to the early '70's. I can't remember Kary Baker whom I think went to HS at Edison or somewhere else. We had some other black QBs in the '70's, I think. I don't know if they were from Miami. Then we had Greg Jones from Edison back about '86. Ended up transferring to WVU. Reportedly, he had one of the strongest arms ever at UM.

The fact is, we haven't had an outstanding black QB at UM, ever, as best as I can remember. Kenny Kelly came in as highly-touted, and he was essentially beaten out by Ken Dorsey. The closest we had to an outstanding black QB was Jacory and most would not consider him outstanding.

If I'm wrong about the history, please tell me.

Bridgewater could have been our first.

Kelly got hurt and that's how Dorsey came in. He never beat him out

Yeah, this proves Dorsey couldn't beat him out and it follows that he wasn't as good!

You could make a three deep all american with the kids we've lost the past five, six years

the correct answer is Patrick Peterson.

that was the beginning of the end of Miami locking down top local recruits.

The OP should change the title too "Why have we been mediocre the last 5 years?" and everyone explanation of the people that got away will tell you we were missing elite talent for the past 5 years.

Who took the cool out of Miami... We used to have Swagger, now we pretend to have swagger. You need let Miami be Miami...

Sammy Watkins thats a national title if we get those
Amari Cooper
Matthew Thomas
Travonte Valentine
Kieth Bryant
Darius Hamilton
Marcus Maye
Jaynard Bostwick
Teddy Brigdewater
Alex Collins
Sony Michael
Jordan Cunningham
Lynden Trail
Avery Young

Leonard Williams would have helped this D now more than any other local prospect I can think of

From the past 5 years, who is a recruit from the miami area that you truly wish we could have snagged.

Since most on here seem to have reading comprehension issues..... Here's my top 5 MIAMI AREA recruits I wish we had gotten in no particular order.

Im not going to include recruits we didn't get this past cycle, only players who actually have proven something in college

1. Patrick Peterson
2. Corey Lemonier
3. Teddy B.
4. Skai Moore
5. Amari Cooper
