The Ole Miss Thread

I think the A&M defensive game plan would be in order. The qbs seem pretty similar in skill set. I don't see their wrs any better than what we already faced in Craver and Concepcion.

Our depth on dline and dbacks will be tested for sure. My only concern is how banged up we are due to our style of play. Every team we face is good now unlike the regular season you can maybe sit guys a little longer.

I agree I thought Dawson and Beck were fantastic against a truly elite defense

We ****ed around too much against A&M

We can’t play into Ole Miss gameplan in this

Continue to go for 4 yards per play just like we did against OSU. Punish them. Take away their offensive possessions
We’re going to average like 8 from what I saw last night. And I’ll toss AM up to the crowd and gail force winds.

Interested to see what Golding does. Their run defense is average. Does he throw numbers and make Beck beat him? If he does there will be guys running free like the FSU game. Or does he not change anything and try to blitz every 3rd down and hope they get a few stops.

Don’t get me wrong, Ole Miss has an elite offense. But don’t let that final score fool you. They scored 19 points in 45 minutes. Chambliss made a **** ton of throws on broken plays and UGA had zero pass rush. Stop the big play, win the turnover battle, and we win.

UGA lost vs Ole Miss because they didn't persist in what Ole Miss sucks at doing. Ole Miss STINKS at stopping the run. They are atrocious. Frazier (UGA RB) was straight hammering those dudes. 5-8 yards at a time. But for some dumb ******* reason, he only had 15 carries. UGA was up 21-12 at the half. We all know Mario. Chambliss aint getting that ball at all in the 3rd quarter. Mario is going to hammer them with Fletcher, Pringle, and Brown. Fletcher, Pringle, and Brown. Fletcher, Pringle, and Brown. Over and over and over again. UGA and Smart didn't commit to Frazier.

We dominated OSU for 80% of that game

My only concern with us is the same concern I’ve had all year

We leave a lot of points on the field

At some point we have to figure that out when an offense challenges our defense. I think that team is Indiana personally but it could happen this week as well

We haven’t see our offense play an A game yet which is concerning but also to me means we haven’t seen our best football either which should scare other teams

I've been a broken record on that subject. Due to the pick 6, I consider the Fletcher fumble largely a wash. However, that's not really a thing.

We need to be the team that doesn't leave points on the field. That should have been 3. The late first half drive where Beck went deep, he should have gone to Daniels. That's probably another 3 points.

I know it's not possible to play this game, because different variables/situations/calculus would arise as a result, but for the sake of argument, that means we can run out the clock up 23-14 in the 4th quarter.

The margins are so important at this stage. They can change everything.

Ole Miss only has 29 sacks in 14 games. You can run the ball on this team. Hard to truly gauge them. Out of conference schedule was abysmal--The Citadel, Tulane, Washington State and Georgia State. It is really about their in conference play. Only top half of conference regular season win was OU.

Chambliss is a problem no doubt. But he can also be caught for huge tackles for losses if he gets too careless trying to make a play or take chances he shouldn't.

We are better upfront on both sides of the ball. Plus, what is not getting recognized is our linebacking has been very good during this 6 game win streak.

You’re spot on. Which means we’re still not playing at the level we should. Which is more encouraging than disappointing.

There was a brief moment in the OSU game where I thought it might finally catch up to us

We ask the defense to do too much and have been all year. Our offense is schematically much improved to me so I think we are closer but I agree, it’s just going to get tighter the next two games

Our post-game win expectancy is pretty low following both games.

Largely because our offense isn’t giving us much in terms of down to down success vs explosion, and we are asking our defense to just carry it.

We aren’t going to 30 to 40% post-game win expectancy our way to a national title. That’s almost impossible.

At some point the offense has to be good against a good defense.
