The Ole Miss Thread

The D was not garbage.
You don’t dominate to this degree and have a garbage defense.

Bro you have been moping since last night. What game did you watch to believ they can play defense?their Qb is all they have we will eat the line and run game. And safeties will close better than Ga. Get out for feelings and go rewatch the Ohio state game. They don’t have JJ Tate and inns on ole miss. We can lose yes but most likely won’t. We prob blow this team out and I’m very confident on that.

On D, Miami has to weather the storm of the early pace and wear them down. Discipline, contain and don’t make it a backyard football game, On O, stay on schedule to sustain long drives to keep their offense off the field. When their offense is on and trying to go up tempo, hit them hard and make them quit.

Am I wrong with this but;

Its been shown that our great pass rush can be neutralized by quick throws and high tempo

Maybe this is the game dare I say, no pun or coincidence, that Miami doesn't play defense to its strength and we just rush 3, drop more in coverage like Penn St did to us in the 86-87 Fiesta?

It might prevent the backyard style of offense they want to play

Brohm might be the best playcaller in football. Lashlee is one of the best at scheming guys open. A lot of that stuff is not easily replicable.

I think we'll avoid bringing risky blitzes against Olé Miss, but I can see Keionte Scott making a big impact with a nickel blitz or two. I think this is the game of games for Lightfoot. His closing speed as a passrusher will be super important at flustering Chambliss so that he can't throw accurately during the scramble drill.

To anyone wetting themselves about the Ole Miss offense, how would your opinion differ if Texas A&M or Ohio State were playing them?
I’ll take a shot, because we would read comments like,

“OSU is too physical for Ole Miss. They have no chance”
“This game will be over by halftime”
“I have better things to do next Thursday”

Have been since last night. People scared after we rolled the most talented team in the country.
I’ve always thought Indiana was the toughest matchup for us given personnel and coaching but OSU was right there as well. A&Ms offense was a tricky one and we held them to 3 points.

I think we just beat 2 of the 3 toughest matchups for us

Ole Miss can certainly beat us of course but if we just play our game I feel pretty good here

I said about 20 times last night “that’s a sack against us” when UGA and Ole Miss were on offense

Dude exactly. Our fans are so negative and scared of everything lol

Agree, good prep. Reed isn't in Chambliss's class, so there's that.
Yea Chambliss is a much, much better passer. He was throwing dimes out there. But those crazy moves he pulls off where he runs 20 yards behind the line trying to evade the rush could be a lot different for us as our DE's seem a lot quicker than UGA's.

Something that nobody is really talking about ...

...Chambliss sometimes plays too much like a gunslinger. Had many dangerous passes that could have been picked. Had a bunch of tipped passes and throws that were just knocked down with authority.

He is a great QB but he is not perfect. He is going to have to play much better to beat us.

Some are just afraid of getting their hopes up haha

Ole Miss is in the final 4 because they’re an elite team for sure. Not an accident

Bain, Mesidor, Scott, and Thomas they have not seen anything like these dudes this year though

Remember the All American kid for A&M? Me neither. SEC still getting so much credit for beating eachother when the whole conference is down

Light foot is as fast as him. They won’t be able to run the ball and have to just throw. He will make plays but ultimately won’t be able to do much most game like every offense we faces this year

Ole Miss run defense average around 100th in the country

It's in the 60s, IIRC. The thing about rush defense ranking is that is partly due to their tempo.

This is our chance to wear them down on offense but we need to be very efficient on offense because they're going to have multiple cracks due to their tempo. Keeping chambliss in check will be a big challenge. The kid is efficient and doesn't throw INTs

I'd argue the same. Ole Miss will make a game out of both of those games.

Get the hopes up. We lose we still had an amazing year. But I still done see us losing this. Unless Louisville Beck comes out and still we would be in it to win
