The Ole Miss Thread

When these 2 teams previously played it was early in the season, game was at UGA and ended in a UGA win 42-35. Glad Canes are playing Ole Miss, wasn’t looking forward to listening to the Carson Beck vs his former team ad nauseam media whining all week.

All you boys high and puffing your chest out should sit down. I hope we are the underdogs, I hope we are the ones to be biz like and not talk. This isn’t a good matchup with our secondary depleted. We need Brown to somehow heal up. We are down to three corners and 3 safeties

They’re living a dream right now. Come out get up on them by 2 scores and it’s ballgame.

UGA has a bad pass rush. Saw the graphic at the start of the game that they have 12 sacks over their last 5 games (an improvement over 8 in the first 8 games). We have 12 in the last 2 games against very very good OLs. They weren’t getting pressure without bringing the house. We can get home with 4 and a spy. Also a game where we very may well give up 300 yards between the 20s but then tighten up in the red zone.

I actually preferred UGA. Teams with mediocre offensive lines that play slow fall right into our trap. Ole Miss is going to do their best to wear out our defensive line.

Ole Miss o line isn’t anything special but they do play super fast. Chambliss is just an escape artist. Miami’s offense will have to help out the defense with long TD drives

I know but they’re not going to give Bain and Mesidor thirty seconds of rest between each play. Man for man, we beat them up but the strategy of playing fast tempo means one or two first downs can easily turn into a very tired Miami front.

If youre focusing on the issue of chambliss using his legs you are looking at this the wrong way.

They get the ball out quick which limits sacks. Thats the tale of the tape, can we score TD's while they settle for FG's
I didn't see them getting the ball out quick at all yesterday. He was running for his life the entire game.

A bit worried about this one, ngl. I wanted to kill the giant carcass (UGA). A great QB is a great equalizer in a game like this and Hetherman has to figure out how to rattle him and get in his head.
He was running for his life all night.

Yeah you’re right about that.

Ole Miss hasn't seen a defense like this b/c there's no defense close to Miami's in the SEC. There just isn't. Oklahoma is closest but they're not close. Ole Miss won't score more than 20 points against Miami. And, Ole Miss' defense hasn't seen an OL like this either. I think this game will look similarly to a Chip Kelly led Oregon facing an SEC team. Ole Miss may have a few moments but will be physically overwhelmed.
This. Dream matchup. The glazing going on here is nuts. It's like they only watched Ole Miss last night. Their D is awful & their oline stinks.

Lol this is a dream matchup for us. We are going to dominate the LOS again.

I watched the entire game (great game btw) and whatever Georgia did in the first half we need to look at because if we are able to replicate that just for the first half and get up early on them by 17 or so, we can control the clock in the second half, limit their possessions, neutralize any halftime adjustments and win the game
