Bro is missing the game to watch a grown man pretending to be a kid repeat the line “I don’t like girls.”

Day and the team wanted that game and it was maximum effort. It's about hardware and we had not won the Big Ten championship since 2020. However, it was not an ideal week of prep leading up to the Indiana game since Day had to put out fires elsewhere. News leaked that Hartline was leaving for USF on signing day, which jeopardized the Chris Henry signing (among others) and Day and co. had to scramble and focus on closing Henry and others when it should've been a smooth signing day. Further, Hartline had divided focus, as he had to balance game prep with everything that goes with being announced as head coach that week. In a week when you didn't want to have any distractions in game prep, there were plenty. Indiana had a great defensive game plan, Mendoza was clutch when he needed to be, and Ohio State didn't execute when they had the chances in the red zone. Hats off to Indiana, they played a great game and earned that win. I do like our chances in a rematch if that comes to fruition.

Looking forward to our game. Miami's front 7 is elite and Bain is a stud. I think it is going to be another slugfest like your last game and our last game against Indiana. I would expect/hope expect Day to spread it out and hit short stuff to negate that nasty pass rush, which opens up some shots. We are not going to have success running the ball at your front 7. On the flip side, I like how our defense matches up against your offense.
Very thorough and I would wager you a 6 pack Canes win though.

As far as where Ohio St allows the most pressure from:
QB responsible for 16%, OL for 81%

LT - 12.5% ... Sierevid is their Starting LT. Allowed 10 Pressures, 8 Hurries, 2 QB Hits. 81.1 Pass Block Grade, 81.1 Run Block Grade.

LG - 16.3% ... Montgomery is their Starting LG. Allowed 13 Pressures, 8 Hurries, 4 QB Hits. 73.9 Pass Block Grade, 74.1 Run Block Grade.

C - 18.8% ... Hinzman is their Starting C. Allowed 15 Pressures, 10 Hurries, 4 QB Hits. 75.0 Pass Block Grade, 69.9 Run Block Grade.

RG - 17.5% ... Tshabola is their Starting RG. Listed as Doubtful, but don't be surprised if this is bs and he plays. He allowed
12 Pressures, 10 Hurries, 1 QB Hit. 60.5 Pass Block Grade, 56.8 Run Block Grade
The Backup is VanSickle who has played 136 Snaps, allowed 2 Pressures, 2 Hurries. 66.5 Pass Block Grade, 65.7 Run Block Grade

RT - 18.8% ... Daniels is their Starting RT. Allowed 15 Pressures, 12 Hurries, 1 QB Hits. 67.6 Pass Block Grade, 68.9 Run Block Grade.
TE - 5%

EIther way seems the Right side of their Oline is their "weak link". Moten+Scott needs to have a big game against their C+RG

Thank you, greatly appreciated.

Kinda crazy that his ADOT goes up when he is under pressure. Maybe if tossing it up to Jeremiah is an option then that’s what you do? That’s speculation on my part, of course.

The statistics show what I hoped: he is worse under pressure. The eyeball test vs Indiana said as much, but the stats bear it out. He doesn’t appear to be awful when pressured like beck is, but he hasn’t faced Bain/mesidor either. Hopefully they can rattle him.

You'd be surprised, Most QBs ADOT increases under pressure.
You can also think about it like in terms of the quick passing game. If you are getting the ball out quickly, it isn't likely that the WRs even have the ability to get 15+ yards down the field and break in their route by then. And If you're getting it out super quickly, you likely are getting the ball out before a true pass rush win can get to you. Most of these types of plays (like all RPO/WR screens/lateral/slant/etc type of plays) are low ADOT high completion % throws.

Like just objectively you likely have a higher TTT on average for 20+ yard attempts than 5 yard attempts. That obviously increases the time the defender has to beat your Olineman and get pressure on you.

So its a bit of selection bias in that regard. Which is why ADOT purely from that aspect isn't as important.

Also I'm about to add the Play Action vs Non Play action grades to that post...

Telling yall now Ohio State offense is nothing. We matchup again them very well. Now there defense is elite at all levels. This game will 100 percent depend on what Beck we get.

Anyone concerned about what Patricia said about cooking up something different for this game against our offense? I am at least a little concerned since Beck has had his moments during the year.

As long as our offense can establish a run game, we should be okay to at least move the chains and try to ball control some.

We still need to hit a couple deep shots when it is there to win this game.

I assume they will try to take out Toney but we need everyone including Fletcher, Daniels, Lofton, Pringle, Marion, Trader, etc.

Go Canes!

I'm fighting an Ohio State fan at 630
tonight. We were talking **** on FB back n fourth & he lives 30 minutes from me. Were meeting in the middle like a marketplace deal & throwing down. I'm gonna picture his face is Jeremiah Smiths. Go Canes!
Is there a place I can bet on this? I haven't been able to sleep so I've been betting on Womens housekeeping olympics. I'm down a $1000.

Beck got this, he will hit the checkdowns..

Remember when Ryan Day had to give up OC play calling duties because he was starting to “struggle” balancing the two. I wonder how much of an impact that has on tonight’s game if any.

Pretty cool Toney chart from ****bird Cane hater and nerd Connelly's preview:

We have done a great and balanced job of lining him up
