The Ohio State Thread

If we had last year's offense and this year's defense we would have a shot in this game... but our offense just won't be able to produce enough. This feels like a 21-7/21-10 type of game. No shame though, since I think OSU wins it all. Similar to 2016 when we ran into a buzz-saw Nova team in the Sweet 16 of the tourney.

Day and the team wanted that game and it was maximum effort. It's about hardware and we had not won the Big Ten championship since 2020. However, it was not an ideal week of prep leading up to the Indiana game since Day had to put out fires elsewhere. News leaked that Hartline was leaving for USF on signing day, which jeopardized the Chris Henry signing (among others) and Day and co. had to scramble and focus on closing Henry and others when it should've been a smooth signing day. Further, Hartline had divided focus, as he had to balance game prep with everything that goes with being announced as head coach that week. In a week when you didn't want to have any distractions in game prep, there were plenty. Indiana had a great defensive game plan, Mendoza was clutch when he needed to be, and Ohio State didn't execute when they had the chances in the red zone. Hats off to Indiana, they played a great game and earned that win. I do like our chances in a rematch if that comes to fruition.

Looking forward to our game. Miami's front 7 is elite and Bain is a stud. I think it is going to be another slugfest like your last game and our last game against Indiana. I would expect/hope expect Day to spread it out and hit short stuff to negate that nasty pass rush, which opens up some shots. We are not going to have success running the ball at your front 7. On the flip side, I like how our defense matches up against your offense.
Will Hartline be a distraction now?

Got some sand in your **** maybe?

No. Day got that situation settled almost immediately the following week. Day will call the plays and Hartline will assist during the game as a spotter, etc., but he is not calling the plays. Day is letting Hartline stick around since his room (WR group) wants Hartline to be with the team for the playoff run, but Day has taken control of the game plan, prep, etc. It's always been Day's offense, Hartline was promoted to OC to keep him happy as long as possible. It should work fine, especially since Day doesn't need to focus/provide input on the defensive side like years past with Patricia running things.

limit explosives, rattle sayin. Pray we can move their dl and somehow get an explosive of our own. Tough matchup (no duh). Patricia vs Dawson is like Einstein vs my 2 year old.

OSU is 1-4 vs a UM last four years so maybe we have that to fall back on

Conor Stallion's on line 1?!?
Pshhh Matt Patricia is just another Josh McDaniels who looked like a genius during the Patriot Dynasty. Give him a real job where he doesn’t have a loaded roster? He ain’t ****. Does he still have the dumb pencil in his ear? If so, I’m very very not scared.

I get it. But their defense has been elite. They haven’t really played anyone with a pulse, so maybe it’s a bit inflated but they’ve dominated those teams like they should have.

Don’t care. Let the idiot fans trash talk like the TAMU player. People who actually know football saw that Ohio State held on by its fingernails to beat Texas in a home game and then were trounced by Indiana. They are a good team with some exploitable weaknesses. Their fans think they are invincible despite riding an L into the playoffs. I truly hope their players have the same mindset as their fans.
The two teams we lost to had the most average college football experience on their rosters, and had the most transfer portal players (48 in the case of Louisville).

Ohio State has the second lowest number of transfer portal players of any Miami opponent (Notre Dame had the fewest) and has by far the lowest average college football experience.

Gotta get Sayin rattled. I’d rush Bain inside a lot more this game as opposed to yesterday. Force Sayin into a ton of congestion. If they do roll him out like what people are saying(I haven’t watched them outside game 1 & IU), Scott needs to make his money blitzing to kill those plays.

Words cant describe how much i hate OSU; so heres a visual representation of what id like to see the team do to those cucks.

It's a young team and they lost 14 draft picks last year. Only a few players had any meaningful role in last year's title run (starters: Downs, Sonny Styles, Jeremiah/Tate, Igbinosun, Hinzman, and Tegra), so there is no real advantage there for Ohio State vis a vis the rest of the playoff field. Next year was the year that most fans targeted as a national championship run coming into the season with Sayin in his second year, entire OL back, Jeremiah's last year, etc.

That game was the last time any team I’ve rooted for in any sport had a chance to be crowned a champion. My disdain for that program runs deeper than FSU & UF. I want this W more than any other win this year other than the championship. I’d stop short of saying I need a win but that would be a lie.

Ill never forget the heartbreak from that BS flag on the last play of that game. I used to work for the original Kendall sports grill on sunset back at that time and all of my coworkers and everybody was just devastated. My hate for them was amplified x 1,000; when my last job which i was fired from had a bunch of lying snake in the grass OSU fans working there. The ringleader was my supervisor. Anything less than a curb stomping of these ******* wont be enough.
