Even with a couple overpursuits and a missed tackle on the edge, today was perhaps the defense's most impressive 4 quarter display.

Diaz gave designed several front looks that I've not seen him do in his 3 years in Miami. Pitt's OL and Pickett were absolutely lost and it led to a couple of sacks.

The guy has been awesome. My favorite part is that he is the exact opposite of that stubborn mule Richt in that he is constantly self evaluating and adjusting.

- he has proven to be a master at half time adjustments
- last year the d struggled in 4-3 and thrived in nickel, so he went out and implemented the striker role
- fair criticism before was that his blitzes were not getting home. Not the case anymore, we are constantly getting home
 
I’ll give Diaz props. He calls an aggressor type of game and like it. Would rather go down fighting than be permissive like the O. Sure, the attack style leads to over pursuing at times resulting in big plays but overall Diaz makes adjustments and his D tightens up.

We need an offensive mentality that delivers the same. Can only hope CMR realizes and acts on it.
 
Manny's guys have bought in to his system and play as such. He's very much engaged and it shows on the sideline. He's definitely my pick for the Broyles.

2 things I've noticed as the season has progressed is his halftime adjustments have been incredible and he's not substituting as much. Practically shuts down the opposing offense in the second half and the substitutions have become more situational.

The stats don't lie. There were some lapses here and there but were mostly few and far between. One helluva year for the D.
 
Fans wanted Diaz gone after year 2. It’s almost as if the fans shouldn’t make emotional decisions on coaches.

and those adjustments happen quicker than they used to.

This is what cracks me up around here to.
 
I will eat crow for sure from the standpoint I was really concerned when Richt hired him. Sometimes in life its more about it being the right fit. Diaz has proven to be a great fit here and from a coaching standpoint has proven more than capable. Its been a **** pleasure watching his defense the past 2 seasons and seeing great player development.

Ah I see your point lol.

I wouid agree wanting manny gone after last year was very very premature. But I think most of us were pretty happy with him.

All the reasons why I thought manny was doing a good job are the same reasons I think richt is not. So after 3 full seasons of seeing these problems not being addressed, I Don’t think wanting richt gone is emotional at all.

It’s based on objectivity not emotion.
