Same year we beat #1, #2, and #6, but some retards here suggest Butch was a bad gameday coach.
Friggin' idiots.

Obviously this ****in guy isnt gettin it done. Honestly, i thought the buyout was higher than that. That seems do-able. WTH is the **** BOT waiting for then?
He had a lot of leverage when he signed his extension. It could very well be up to around 4 million dollars. The athletic department doesn't really have that type of money to throw around and go out and hire an expensive coach. That's why Butch is the answer.
So they would have to pay for the buyout and how much of his salary for the yrs left on the contract?
He makes 2.5 million dollars a year. He has 5 years remaining on his contract. 5 times 2.5 million equals 12.5 million. Most buyouts are paid off in percentages with it usually being in the 10-30% depending on how much leverage the coach had at the time. So assuming it's at the high end of 30%, the school would have to pay him 3.75 million dollars to not coach. That's how much it would take to pay him and how that would be split over the years I don't know. The buyout covers all the admin would have to pay him in its entirety of the contract.
3.5 million dollars is a steep amount of money for any athletic program especially Miami's. This would put a serious dent in the athletic department's budget.
Knowing the admin, I would guess his seat is at about a 6.3 on the heat scale. There's 6 more games to played and if they shake out like we all expect, he's on a scalding seat and should probably start looking to sell his house.
You sound like you know something but how do you know something? Source?
Here is 3.5 million. Can we move on now?

I'm a student who works in the President's Office. I can't give the actual source names because then I will get fired, but they are actual seasoned adults who work in and have worked in the administration for a long time. Everything I've said since the summer has so far come true, so I trust the people telling me things and I don't see why there success rate would change now.
The school has had other athletic plans for the Maryland buyout. These plans were made under the assumption that this season would not be the complete bust it is shaping up to be. A lot of expenditure plans will have to be reworked and some big projects will need to be postponed even further if this money has to go to Golden's buyout.

And, there's next to a 100% chance that the money from Golden's next job will offset against his buyout payments. So basically the buyout isn't going to be this unmanageable behemoth like the Golden slurpers want it to be.

real tears man..oh and the intros in college football used to be so much better (gameday, primetime games). We've lost a touch since Keith Jackson/Musberger were main stays game lost a little of it's magic

If he gets a next job. He can choose to not coach and continue collecting his buyout while unemployed.
He could go into TV and still get paid from Miami.

The school was desperate and in a rough situation. Also, they were so confident that he was going to succeed it was considered a lesser issue. And it isn't like the money isn't there. It's more that the check will be so big that it will impact other sports, which is always a worst case scenario for buyouts.
Ask Fsu or UF fans that don't have there shades on.... What they think of Butch Davis's return to Miami? That's all u need to know is that reaction to know this guy is legit.
