Yes, we've had plenty of great players. That's why I said legendary, NFL Hall of Fame type guys. Santana Moss was a GREAT 'Cane. I'm not including #6. Most of the single digits you couldn't do just because there are already multiple guys who rocked it well. And I'm also not saying retire them, just reserve them. They can still be worn.

Even though Sean is a local legend and all-time great, it wouldn't seem right to retire his number and not do the same for Chris Campbell, Jerome Brown, Shane Curry, Al Blades, Stanley Shakespeare, Leonard Myers, Cortez Kennedy, etc.
 
Ed Reed was as good as Taylor and so was Bennie Blades. Sean was plenty good but the only difference between him and those other two was he sadly died young.

ANYONE...Who thinks Bennie Blades shouldn't be mentioned with Ed and Sean, needs their UM-Card confiscated immediately....
 
The ONLY two things that hurt SeanTay are longevity (Thanx to a couple of scumbags) and the Redskins....For Sean to be mentioned with Ed in the Pros...he most certainly would've had to get tf outta Washington eventually...

If Miami does anything special for Sean Taylor then u may as well do something for the every dope player that was at Miami.

By the way, as great as Sean Taylor was for Miami, Ed Reed was better. Wouldn't be fair to just do this for Sean

He's one of God's greatest creations on that Football field, if you could dream up the perfect football player Sean is the exact design. He was the size of a LB, the speed of a RB, the ball skills of a WR & the savage mentality of a DE.

An extreme unrelenting competitor & had the poise of a veteran QB, he never looked shook or overwhelmed on any play. He was just the most dominant athlete every time he stepped foot on the field.

I fully believe had his life not been cut short, he would've been a multiple Super Bowl champion & won a Defensive MVP. So much potential it was scary how good he was becoming, he was actually having his best season the year he was killed smh **** shame man, I'm still not over it.

I would of love for ST26 to have finished his career. The debate between him and Ed Reed would have been one of the greatest debates of all time..... And it could of been between the 2 greatest safeties ever

Also two different personalities....Sean wasn't the Rah-Rah..Halftime Speech kinda guy like Ed was....Ed was CERTAINLY the better leader....Sean was more reserved....BUT....once those pads went on...Good Lord......I still feel (and ALWAYS will) that Seans Magical 2003 yr...was the Best single DB yr in UM History....Not only from a DB perspective...but for goodness sake...He played STs his entire career..with Zero F's given....
