The next 48 hours is CRITICAL

There's no reason to fire Blake yet. He didn't hire Golden and I'm not sure he was even in charge when Golden was extended. Now it's time for him to make his name. Do it.

Yeah, I'm puzzled by the James hate. He had nothing to do with the hire or extension. So why all the haters?

Blake has done some good with Athletics in general and wants to be here. Football results have not come out of it though.......

Look at Foley at UF and how he handled the Muschamp situation. Basically said we will monitor things and make our determination at the season's end. That's a fair and reasonable statement. To sum up Foley: Get results in year 4 or GTFO.

James on the other hand is basically saying it's ok if we lose a lot, because we have faith in Al to continue getting us to a ceiling of 9 wins and regular season of 7-8 wins. It's ok Al, we're going to hold your hand since the Shapiro situation resulted in... a whole lot of nothing. Did it hurt recruiting, yes, but not enough for us to be a 6 win team in year 4 in the ACC coastal. To sum up Blake James: Get results or......don't if you want, because there is no expectation to get wins here, just keep looking pretty and say trending up.

Shannon wasn't fired mid-season either. They backed him up until USF. Well, it's going to be hard to ignore this. I don't see anyway for them to still have faith in Golden. So like OP said, the next 48 hours will show us who Blake is as AD.

I am not a Blake James fan at all.
I think he is a clueless twit with too much estrogen in his body.

Having said this, comparing him to the u***gg AD is Apples and Oranges.

Foley's process and decision regarding Muschamp comes from above, from the
folks who sign the checks.

It will be the same deal if/when Golden is fired.

ADs don't really fire anyone...they are instructed to do so by the folks with
the checkbook.

I don't see this reasoning at this point. Keeping Albortion is indefensible at this point. The next president will come into a morgue if they keep Alfraud. Why not help the next president and give alums and boosters some hope? Why force a new president to fire an innocuous sock puppet and a scumbag, con man football coach?
