Haven't seen anyone else post this but in Manny Navarro's latest article he mentioned that sources told him that Patke would be the new ST coach.

Here is the quote -

A source said Patke is likely to become Miami’s special teams’ coordinator, and Banda will go back to coaching safeties, but could still be involved with some defensive game-planning.

I think someone mentioned that they expect Manny to help out on ST as well.

I would like to hope he thinks its a promotion from coaching up two or three dudes from that "striker" position to know controlling 1/3 of the football game in his hands with keeping up with sound STs

If he can work on suring up STs while being an Ace crooter and snagging more croots he can move up quicker

I told y’all a couple days ago we wasn’t bringing in a st’s guy.

Manny can’t be that stupid. That would be equally as stupid as letting him be a co-dc.

1/3 of the game does not need a green coach.

Why is Patke so highly regarded internally? Is he just a hard worker or has he actually contributed something of note?

This kinda how it is in cfb now , it’s not as important as it used to be. Majority of kickoffs are touch backs and majority of punts are fair catches. The rules are slowly taking st’s out of the game and that’s why coaches do this. They don’t want to waste a coaching spot or money on st’s.

Won't be shocked to see Banda as Co-DC with Baker when everything is formally announced. Banda keeps his promotion, but Baker calls the D.

And giving Patke ST also aligns with him maintaining the coordinator promotion from Richt.

Anyone that actually cares about strength and conditioning for themselves will be a great start.

Would love someone with some experience doing it. It's important AF. Urban coaches his specials himself.

ST has NEVER been 1/3rd of the game. Maybe like 1/5th. Now it's even less important with KR being basically eliminated.

The fact that can say this knowing our special teams cost us a **** ton of games in 3 years is baffelling.

Opening kick in the pinstripe bowl was out of bounds.

How many times did feagles put us in horrid field position?

Cmon
