Pigs turn into hogs and hogs get slaughtered. This old business model for the NCAA will eventually crumble.
The players generate all this money.. they should see some of it..
If this is some kind of faux-intelligent post then you nailed it. “… live like kings for four years” might be the stupidest thing I read today. Unfortunately. And, No one said anything about slavery; temper your triggers.
This is absurd. And, because you believe they would be lucky to get into a community college then it’s alright to treat them as second-class students?
Reciprocity and market value are totally different things. Players currently are forced to trade athletic talents for a scholarship AND LIMITED student activities. No other scholarship students have the same restrictions as athletes do.
This topic always brings out the people who hate scholarship athletes.
Forced hasn’t negating anything except the idea that straw men won’t be built in this thread.
“Second-Class students, explain?” If you do not realize that there are restrictions placed upon scholarship athletes (and non scholarship athletes) that do not apply to the student body as a whole or even students who have NON-ATHLETIC scholarships then there’s no reason to discuss this. In short: non-athletic scholarship > athletic scholarship.

Thank Shalala for those 2 knuckleheads. She had no interest in the football team succeeding at this university. So glad that she is no longer involved. We finally have a budget to use. Hopefully Blake makes the most of where to spend those funds.....proves that we should have thrown ton of more money at coaching hires than settling for blue light specials like Randy and Al Folden... would have been raking in millions
You do know that sentence is stupid, right?
What if we didn't have college football and left those poor inner city kids to survive on their own?
Modest is an understatement for the revenue they generate for the school and at that level its not a game. They put their bodies on the line and the effects are felt for the rest of their lives, not counting the career ending injuries. I am yet to come across a former collegiate athlete without at least knee issues. Its not a game when their future potential earnings depends on it and they can lose it any moment. No regular student has to worry about snapping an ankle and being forced to switched majors.
And now the democratic boogeyman...whos going to build the roads without government? who decides how much an account gets paid now? why would football be any different? each school pays as much as they want for each athlete. Doesnt matter if its a basket or football school, each school pays whatever they feel is the appropriate value. Title IV is **** and has always been **** and should go away. Amateurism obviously goes out the window.
If everyone is getting paid, what penalties do you forsee? Most of scholarship reduction penalties are tied to someone getting or giving money.
As a regular schlub was your social media attacked after a bad game? family members threatened? were you able to walk around free on campus? any of you interactions with women scrutinized? dont get caught up in the glamour of what the life of a student athlete is supposed to be, those kids earn it.
Then these kids will have to do like we are doing sir .... work and provide for their families like some of US are doing in good ole' Merica' Wink, Wink.
All do with respect I study Psychology, Philosophy you can't debate or box with me !!! So stop reaching...
P.S. I notice you left out the poor Country folks as well ?
Remove that hatred at ya heart my brother . "May peace be upon you" .... GOD BLESS.![]()
You underestimate the power of the human brain...they would come up with something else to do so they can be taken advantage of....i.e the formation of rap. What if we didn't have college football and left those poor inner city kids to survive on their own?
Yep agreed. Outside of athletes, I bet you he believes in the free market and limited bureaucracy. I always find that funny. This is absurd. And, because you believe they would be lucky to get into a community college then it’s alright to treat them as second-class students?

No, amateurism goes out the window. Its already a business except its being run like the mafia. Just legitimize it. Its already being done all over Europe. Every top soccer player (and i believe their basket players also) went to some soccer or basketball school. So we are supposed to provide them with non-academic job training AND pay them for it?
As for Title IX, it's not a sports law. It's not going away.
