The JoJo thread

At least he is getting separation and is open for the most part. And he is a willing blocker.
Naw. We can't let that rock because Dee Wiggins and Mark Pope were the GODS at getting separation and always being opened but couldn't catch a cold. They still get blasted on here till this day(by me as well). Funny thing is..... both of those players at least still made a couple of meaningful plays in their careers here. Mark Pope even had the sense to try out as CB his last year here. Trader should try the same.

This is actually an idea that was entertained in high school and he wouldn't have it.

Probably would make an elite Corner.
Not for us. If he's worried about contact how's he gonna tackle for Hetherman?

Edit: I am wrong the clip of his block late in the game shows he can lay the wood

I posted after JoJo's miscues in the SMU game that he seemed like he still had a lot of maturing to do — kind of like Mali in reverse.

It was as if he hasn't figured out that College Football is serious business and focus and attention to detail are requisites for success.

Then I noticed after we beat Ohio State and a bunch of players and staff were calmly dapping up JJ — and then JoJo comes up to his old teammate and he's jumping up and down with excitement like a little kid.

Not meant to be a criticism at all. I think everybody in the program and all of us in the fanbase want to see Trader figure things out so his talent can shine.

Maybe the light comes on in the championship game or maybe it's next season. Looking forward to seeing it

I would absolutely love for this kid to make a meaningful catch/play. Seems like he’s pressing to no end. The mind is powerful. But, right now, the priority is getting the ball to whomever can actually help us. One to go.
Young fella is competing & blocking his *** off. So wanting to make a play, anxious & fighting the ball. Would be a mistake giving up on him.

Is that winning football? Or should we kick him to the curb like CIS suggests?

Blocks but can’t catch? Bulk him up and move him to TE. They don’t do much in our pass game anyways, but maybe he can be a useful decoy and get vertical to clear out routes for WRs that can catch.

Dude needs to work on his craft. Every time I see Mali practice it’s with a purpose. Both hands, body position, looking at the ball. He even pauses a bit after the catch to make sure he got proper hand placement. Just basic solid fundamentals every time.

Jojo….. one handed catches all the time. Like for real man. Just focus on the craft.

It’s like all those kids playing basketball. As soon as they get on the court they start launching 3’s as warm up and wonder why they can’t even make 10 foot mid range in the game.

His first catch last night and his only catch against OSU were quick bobbles. Kid has the yips
I've seen videos of him catching balls 1-handed with ease. Something is going on with the kid mentally. It's a concentration/focus thing or anxiety for previous drops, but he's fighting himself to catch the ball.
