The JoJo thread

It’s jojo’s fault. Let’s start there. HOWEVER Mario has way too much dip on his chip for a guy who’s never really been an upper echelon coach. It starts with Jojo but Mario isn’t handling it well either.
Ok - help me understand:

Jojo is at fault for whatever has been happening. Mario is not handling well, so Mario is holding some type of grudge?

So what I am trying to understand is if Jojo messed up but now he’s buttoned up or doing everything in his power to make things right, you are saying that Mario, in this situation is not recognizing the efforts being made by Jojo and is deciding to be petty with one of our highest rated recruits?

Maybe he is being more petty than usual but that is not making much sense if the player has done or is doing everything possible as atonement for his errors.

Value your opinion. How would you handle?
I’m not of the belief that what Mario is doing is wrong. Here’s what I would do. The kid is a willing and engaged blocker. Put his *** out there instead of Marion for all the blocking snaps. Keep him engaged and then cut his water off if he doesn’t comply. If his act cleans up the ball comes his way.

Jojo is Mario’s version of Jeff Thomas, at least Jeff Thomas did something on the field.

Such a weird post to make, if you are good enough to see the field absent of off the field issues you will play. This much has been proven..I would give Mario the benefit of doubt on this one.

When you are a young kid, it’s always everyone’s fault but your own. Seems like Jojo has an echo chamber circle around him…when’s the last time this type of mentality panned out?

Making this post like this impacts the season or perception in any way is strange behavior.
You cannot mention Jeff Thomas without mentioning Pop Cooney and his gun.

So if he’s THAT good then I am assuming Ohio State/Alabama etc.. have already been in contact and he has found his destination 🤷‍♂️

That’s **** good idea. Thank you brother. Hopefully this gets sorted.

It’s more along the lines of Jojo messed up - more than once. Jojo thinks his punishment should be over because he course corrected after the first time. Jojo thinks he busting his *** to get out of the dog house, Mario is saying no.. that’s just the standard. And now Jojo is shutting down again. Allegedly,

I’m of the belief you gotta talk to these kids in a language they understand. That doesn’t mean coddle them, it means meet them where they are
I remember when George was about a millimeter away from being off the team. I know people still hated on him but to me it was an example of everyone getting together and the kid finished with a **** good career here

Not to say apples to apples but hopeful for the same type of thing here

That’s a doobieus assumption

Wasn’t even thinking of that but you’re right. The thing about George though was there never was a question of him willing to do whatever to get out there. He just really couldn’t stay out his own way, some people are like that in life. Does Jojo want to be here? IDK doesn’t show to me

Yeah, Mario doesn’t have the track record others do but his main priority - along with talent acquisition - is maintaining a certain culture and he’s unbending in that regard, right or wrong. If his approach is gonna weed out some guys that don’t completely buy in, he’s identified that as being non-negotiable.

And from what I understand, JJT is on his 2nd/3rd chance. 🤷‍♂️
