...is the lack of money we’re willing to shell out for our coaching staff. If you don’t look beyond Richt’s salary, you’d say we compensate our staff fairly well. But when you delve further into it, they can only pay him that $4 million by being cheap in other areas.

Thomas Brown has the OC title because it gives him additional compensation, because he’s a plus coach and recruiter. But Richt calls the plays.

Jon Richt was brought on not only because he’s CMR’s son, but because he’s an ultra cheap option as QB coach.

Rumph had never coached in college and while actually proving to be a solid CB coach, a very green coach will not make much money, relatively speaking.

Hartley is TE and ST coach. We pay him 1 salary to teach two position groups.

****, Diaz probably took a hometown discount because being HC is his dream job.

Yes Richt makes good money. But that’s because he’s HC, QB coach, and OC. Look beyond that, and you can see how they made up for his salary with cheaper options behind him.

The point is this: until we can pay the right amount of money for coordinators and position coaches, we won’t see the changes we want.

He is the 23rd highest paid coach or some **** but posters in here are acting like we are paying tier 1 money, **** we are not paying tier 2 money for this staff. Bama's strength coach probably makes more money than everyone except Richt.

Miami doesn’t publish salaries. Post your source with actual figures.

Offseason changes that need to be made. Fire Hartley off Special Teams, Fire Jon Richt which won’t happen, Richt gives up playcalling and brings in a real offensive coordinator, Fire Searles. Rumph and Banda are put on alert. See what they could do next year with 4 DB’s leaving after this season.

I know for a fact that’s a Thomas Brown is paid close to a mill. The number crept out when he was hired. He turned down the first offer.

Precisely. He gets that because he’s being paid as both RB coach and OC.

This is just a poor attempt at deflection of blame. Do you really think we lost the game last night because we don't pay our staff enough? Maybe that's an excuse for why we can't compete with the Alabama's and Clemson's of the world, but it's absolutely not an excuse for losing to Virginia.

Richt picked this staff. Don’t make up an excuse

Lol the problem is professional Madden players have better play calling abilities than Richt.

This shows Richt’s salary. But it doesn’t take a payroll list to know they hired inexperienced staff to offset the most money we’ve ever paid to a HC. If we had the money to hire a real QB coach and special teams coordinator, who knows how different things would be? This team is stacked with talent, but its potential is clearly not being maximized.

We outbid teams for stacy searles. We just spending da money in da wrong places. Our o line wasnt blowing savannah state off the ball. Enough said

Well Saban once in awhile loses to people below him but it blows your mind that we lose to Virginia.

I didn’t say it was the reason for losing to UVA. That’s an issue in its own right lol. But we all want to be elite. And you can’t be elite by being (as) frugal as we are.

Hey, unless you're shelling out money like George Steinbrenner to free agents, you shouldn't expect to beat the UVa's of the world
