We can take as many as we want. The thinking has been it'll be a smaller class because we like our current roster. But we'll make room for stars if we can afford them.

you gotta strike while the iron is hot. And right now, based on last season, and recent recruiting momentum, you gotta keep pressing. This isn't the time to lay back

And with that said, this upcoming season, I think there is an incredible expectation to once again win 10-plus game, finally win the ACC, and make a run deep into the playoffs

They accomplish that, this is no longer just an upward trajectory -- it's what Miami is now under Cristobal

To me, there is no pressure, just great opportunity

My thought is that changes are on the horizon in college football and they're coming sooner rather than later. Trump's Executive Order is limiting transfer portal movement. I think we'll see congressional legislation before the end of the 2026 season related to player payments.

Miami and staff know this could be the last year of the unregulated recruiting market and they're loading up on all the elite talent they can. I suspect many of these kids, even the high level young ones who get buried on the depth chart may end up sticking around as they know they'll only get one shot at the portal without having to sit out a year.

This may end up being the perfect year to overspend and attack the recruiting market.

Not happening
 
Mario will keep pursuing guys that can improve the team. Not just the current targets. But the late bloomers and the top dogs committed elsewhere when other programs stumble. He’ll blow through that 25 number and still grab the best from the portal too.

It was because of money and playing time but I can see Mario try to flip him. If Auburn is a dumpster fire and he sees that we reloaded on the line maybe he’s willing to take a slight pay cut.
