(The) Indiana (Game)

It’s been very cool hearing the same people who said “you can’t beat a ****ed of TAMU at their place” also say “yeah but Ohio State is the best team in the nation” also say “Chambliss is the best QB in the country yall haven’t seen anyone like him” now say “Indiana is the perfect college team”.

Lots of "This is the best team of all time" chatter. They're great, but this is ridiculous

Have we discussed the absolute GARBAGE rushing offenses Indiana has faced?

Rushing Yards/ Attempt rankings (*Excluding G5 teams*)

Illinois 100th
Iowa 50th
Orgeon 13th
Michigan St 104th
UCLA 45th
Maryland 67th
Penn State 36th
Wisconsin 122nd
Purdue 89th
OSU 59th
Alabama 127th (holy ****)

Indiana is very good against the run, but context is important. Who have the played? What offensive line has challenged them?

This game is going to be decided in the trenches, and just like the OSU game, media/bookies/general public are underestimating how large the advantage we have in the trenches.

I think we're going to be able to run it and control the clock. I don't think they will be able to run it.

24-17 good guys
Pretty sure they played 2 fcs/1 G5 team and then came back with bottom 6 of 7 B1G teams.

This. According to apparently everyone, when we win on Monday we will have beaten four of the greatest CFB teams ever assembled. Pretty fine resume.

None of my coworkers are saying we have a chance, I just basically said “Don’t be surprised if we win” The latest was the Texas fan I told you all about in another thread, he states “congrats, you all made it this far too get blown out by Indiana” I said maybe so, but don’t be surprised if we win. He then states that if it wasn’t for the missed pass interference call we probably would’ve lost the game, I said that was pass interference, he said he pulled the Ole Miss receiver down, I said ok, both had hands on each other, and did you miss the Ole Miss guy grab O’Connor’s facemask before the endzone?? He said he didn’t see that, I said ok, now what about the Lucas targeting call, he states “I don’t know I’m not a referee” I said bull**** then don’t say it was pass interference call call since you’re not a ref. Then he states that if Texas was in the playoffs we would t even be in it, I said well the thing is Texas has to make the playoffs 1st. Then a rambling about Arch Manning and we he was the best qb at the end of the season blah blah blah and I said you ****ers lost to Lagway and Florida, we dominated them. I said take of the orange and white glasses bud.
I been walking around like Vince McMahon for weeks telling everyone we gonna put belt to ***, gonna beat'em up like they've never been beat up before.

Ain't been wrong yet.

This team is DIFFERENT and history beckons. Just lock in.

Dang, that's pretty wild. Where do Canes rank on that list?

Does Indiana get spotted a 10 point lead or something cause we shot ourselves in the foot and lost to SMU and Louisville? They way they acting it's locked up.

Seems like they have to win a football game still.

Boots Laced!

my life became happier when I stopped arguing / having conversations with idiots. Tell him, thank you for your concern and go enjoy a beautiful day. Monday can't come soon enough!
Also, another coworker (Pedo State Fan) said Oregon had a better offense than us. Course, he’s the same, (we don’t have a chance) crowd. I said man we had a gauntlet in the playoffs, could’ve believe I said it, he asked how, I said every game we were done, counted out, then we go against the (12th man), overrated he said. Then I said about the Bucknuts, he said that’s our only good win, I said we beat the **** out of them and they lost to Indiana by 3, said it didn’t matter, even said Ole Miss what overrated, I thought my goodness.

I don’t talk to people that don’t know football it’s annoying. Could we lose, yes will we prob not. But if we do lose it’s because of us not Indiana being better.

The Penn State fan actually does know foosball, better than the Texas fan, but he said it’s his Big 10 bias. I won’t say a **** word to them if we win, I’ll come to work and just sit there.

Indiana hasn’t been in a close game against a good team with legit season-on-the-line pressure all season.

Their win against Ohio State didn’t have do or die stakes with both teams playing with guaranteed CFP berths.

That's legit. The USF result is bonkers, that's 79% fewer yards than their average. ODU was the only other team to show that kind of control over the run against them. Looks like 3 games with about 75% fewer yards than average. That is smothering. And 5 games with opponents at 45% fewer yards or more.

Looks like Indiana has 6 of those 45%ers, but they played one more game and much worse rushing teams so that makes sense. And only one game holding opponents to 60% fewer yards or more. And their worst games against UCLA and MSU, neither of whom are exactly known for their rushing or strong O-lines.

Either way, both teams better be ready to spend more time in the air than they're used to. Going to be hard to stay on schedule if either team is able to play to their average.
