(The) Indiana (Game)

Indiana lost some of their best DL in Kellan Wyatt and Stephen Daley.

Our Pass Protection was actually pretty disappointing against Ole Miss. If we play like we did against Ohio State, we will win.
Mentioned it in ole miss preview multiple times.. Ole Miss Dline is actually VERY talented and I could see all those guys getting a look in NFL. They run a funky scheme also because their coach had to protect against a weak back 7..

But Echoles and Kam Franklin (We recruited and was #1 player out of Miss) talented true sophs, Harris 6'8 350 load very unique player, Perkins was also #1 player out of Miss and had a havoc rate as high as Bain in playoffs due to forced fumbles and Princewill led team in sacks..

Indiana scheme is ELITE and they play sooooo sound, but player for player is not the same.. The simulated pressures and stunts will be a problem for us but I believe in Mario/Mirabal with 10 days..

Mendoza lobs up back should throws over and over. I’m not sure we will have a ton of time to get to him. What kind of defense stops this? Do we go physical at the line of scrimmage to disrupt the receivers timing?
The RPO stuff is tough but he does hold on to ball and they have taken sacks, some teams have gotten to him, clog his get aways up the middle and his eyes drop down.

Just my opinion but he's the Heisman winner for a reason so we can expect that he's going to get be a problem regardless, that's to be expected.

However, I do think he's way too comfortable back there. A few pressures/hits/sacks early and he can be shook like Sayin was -- Sayin was visibly uncomfortable and seeing ghosts.

Oh ALSO everybody just needs to expect that we also -- per usual -- are going to be going against the refs as well. Be prepared for a pivotal bull**** penalty at the exact time we don't need one. The media wants this "perfect season" narrative for IU and they want it bad.

Do our coaches have an awareness to the discourse that Indiana may not be on the up and up? That their seeming awareness of other teams traits may be through let’s say nefarious means?

I was impressed with how efficient Indiana was vs Oregon (who played poorly).

11of 14 on 3rd down is crazy.
+3 on turnovers
Pick6 touchdown and 3 drives of 3,4,and 19 yards for TDs

They live on the run and then are very efficient when throw (17 for 20! last night).

Oldest cliche in championships and sometimes it is bs, but not here:

1. We gotta pound the run and tire out their limited D rotation (can someone make it unseasonably hot and humid?)
2. We gotta stop their run and get off the field

Indiana is a solid well coached, efficient team. But they are beatable and I think we are actually the team structured to do that. Go Canes.

Having healthy corners is vital to this game. So that’s the only way you stop it.

All you can really do is try to make them one dimensional and rely on that all game. If they beat us with back shoulders then tip your hat.

We can play perfect coverage and they’ll still win their fair share. Just stop the run.

This. There’s definitely not another playoff team that leaves points on the field more than us. Probably not many teams in the country

It’s astonishing
Will try to make a formal post on this next week, but in our 3 playoff games we have had 1st & 10 in + territory on 8 drives that we got 0 total points out of. Bit of a miracle that we have managed to win all 3 games, but on the positive side of the ledger if we simply score points in + territory against IU like an average team would I think we're gonna win #6.

They are already talking about Indiana being the best college football team of all time.
It’s ridiculous. I’m sorry but I just don’t see it.
I think they are very beatable and this Canes team is going to take it to them.

This is wild and some serious recency bias. But, I’m all for it. The more people are riding the IU train and fluffing them, the better for us.
