The Hall of Fame case for Howard Schnellenberger

Well stated, and yes—the NCAA needs an exception to the rule and to look at each individual's journey.

Howard took some big L's building up Miami, Louisville and FAU—while doing Hall Of Fame-worthy book in is endeavors.

Do right by this man and close out his legacy with an induction.
EA should name the Dynasty Mode after Schnelly. It's basically what anyone who plays that mode does anyway. Taking perennial losers and trying to win the big one.

No brainer for the HOF.

Also our biggest, "what could have been."

I love JJ, but had HS stayed, we'd be talking Bear Bryant level shizz.
We’re the only program I can think of that had three of our prior coaches stayed for long stretches, we’d probably have 7-8 NCs. Butch was the biggest missed opportunity. I’m convinced he would’ve won three at a minimum had he stayed.

Howard probably shot himself in the foot shuffling from job to job. Still remarkable for a coach to bring two programs back from the dead in Miami and Louisville and then birthing FIU. Two huge mistakes proved costly - first leaving Miami and later bolting Louisville for Oklahoma.
As much as Miami fans identify with Jimmy, Miami never becomes Miami without Howard. Hall of Famer or not, Howard will always be the guy.

The next two coaches got some pretty **** good results.

It's an interesting what if, but we got a real life dynasty.

@TheOriginalCane ...you just knew it'd be Hyde, and not Bianchi saying anything remotely positive about UM...or UM related.

I hate Bianchi.

The only thing I've ever respected from Bianchi is that when he bet his hair on the Gators to win, he actually shaved his head when Miami won.

Of course, he was probably going bald anyhow.

He was already going bald so it was a no brainer im sure in Bianchi’s mind. I hated that insufferable little **** when he wrote for the Times-Union. The man has sucked more Gayturd **** that any other writer that I’ve known.

Bianchi is an equal opportunity critic/attacker. Lots of credit for taking on the Gators, particularly sleazy old coach Urbie.
