vt wil be tough bc its on the road even though they're bad. we've played only one road game so far and handled the environment well I thought but now were on a 3 game losing streak and banged up.

duke is at home. I think we get the W but it wont be easy.

UVA gong through transition struggles and aren't good. theyre always a house of horrors for us.
 
Maybe we just stop going for it on 4th down every time we are in the RedZone. What kind of dumb thought process is "field goals aren't going to win" when 2/3 of the losses had us in field goal range enough times to win?

We’re not going to keep inventing new ways to lose. Eventually, we’ll play a couple clean games and we’ll be hard to beat, as long as we maintain the same offense we had yesterday.

My #1 Goal: mayyyybe our players stop falling down at a rate higher than a person with Spina Bifida that just contracted Polio trying to ice skate for the first time.....while wearing two left skates and after they consumed an entire bottle of Everclear.

You think Mario realizes that we are a finesse passing team and NOT a "power spread" offense? Will take 3 seasons / recruiting classes to TRANSITION to what he wants to run ... but right now you have to run the offense that fits your personnel. Hope they continue to adjust. Crazy to put up 500 passing yards ant almost totally abandon it in the red zone. Give me C. Young, Mallory and Redding in the end zone and let TVD find the open man.
 
Team is way to inconsistent to be talking about ripping off 4 in a row. Week to week with this team.

Everything Mario is doing is simple game planning nothing complicated at all.

He’s trying to make do with what he has , he basically has a high school team that doesn’t have the mindset nor the capabilities to implement a D1 playbook and the hundreds of reads different fir each opponent.

Mario is in survival mode with. NO REINFORCEMENTS .

We need to have some understanding here .

It’s like charging a hill with Blazing Saddles .

We got nothing but a couple players capable of challenging anyone.

Don’t worry. You can expect the Miami we know to show up. VT and Duke will play their best games of the year and we will give them every opportunity to win.

I can. Should have beat a decent 4-1 football team.

But hasn’t that been the problem? You don’t know what you will get weekbin and week out. Inconsistent.

Other than our Online can’t move people, missed tackles, and missed coverages.
 
Scheme, X’s and O’s whatever. will the players want to win? Will the players say we not losing no more games? Will the players commit to execution? If not nothing Gattis, Steele, or Mario will draw up not going to work. You saw how they felt about winning the Coastal by sleep walking into a 14-0 deficit. How the Coastal plays out will be squarely on the mentality of these kids.

VT — they are in shambles, just like us. If we play like we did against UNC, even with all the mistakes, we should beat them.

Duke — A much harder game than we anticipated at the beginning of the year. It’s a legit toss-up. But if we beat VT the week before, I think it gives us the confidence to take care of business against them at home.

UVA — they ******* stink. Plain and simple. If you think we’re bad, watch them play for more than 5 min. Even if we play awful, we should be able to squeak out a win.

Here’s the bottom line: we lost the UNC game because of self-inflicted wounds. We looked much better on offense, minus the red zone, and the defense held UNC below their season average in points scored. So while the first-half defense was rough, and that blown coverage made me want to break my TV, we ended up making the necessary adjustments to give our offense a chance to win the game. We just couldn’t get out of our own way. Dropped passes, fumbling the ball, etc. I’ve never seen a team shoot themselves in the foot more than us. It’s simply remarkable.

This season feels like the exact opposite to 2017. We caught every break in the world that year. This year, we’re not catching any breaks. Teams aren’t giving games away to us like we are for them. Eventually, I think we learn to minimize mistakes and capitalize on the ones we get from our opponents.

All in all, I’m not arguing we can salvage the season because barring a UNC collapse, they are in the driver’s seat to win the Coastal. That’s a complete and unacceptable failure on the part of the coaching staff. With that said, we can still try to end the season on a decent note. Going 3-0 heading into the FSU game would give this team/fan base much needed confidence, so that we can be fired up when they come down to our house on November 5th. Beat FSU and maybe, just maybe, we could be turning the corner.

But first, we need to take care of business these next 3 weeks. I don’t care how pretty it looks — just win, man!

WTF does that matter? GO look at the scores of the MTSU games this year and get back to me.

See how that works, not in your favor is it? DIdn’t quite think that one thru I think.

The difference is we have one bad game, while they have gotten blown out by multiple **** teams.
