The future of the OL

Plazz
Minaya
Francavilla
Wilkerson
Campbell

All the above will never start here.

Buchanan is a potential starter

SJ is too small and will struggle to be an impact player.
Minaya is my bet out of those guys to be a contributor

*Not sure if its been stated but like how we got Marty Brown i would like to mine FCS squads for an OL. May Actally be slightly cheaper than some of the big name transfers from Power 5 schools. One school in particular would be NDSU.
In the last 10 years they have had 6 ol drafted. That's with 3-4 being day 1 picks.

*This is a guy to watch for sure for next year.

Another from the MVSC CONFERENCE

*Im hoping for SDSU to win the national championship so we can poach this kid. lol
Read the story. Will be a tough *** pull.....but he needs to face better comp and get coached up for the nfl. Mario could allow him to fly back n forth for his cow duties lol

Last guy i would track for my early list: Kid is probably going to the draft but......hes from oregon n likely knows how good Mario/Mirabal ae.

@DMoney

The plan should be for Samson and Cantwell to start at OT.
You figure out if Rodriguez or SJ start at Center.
Then you need/expect McCoy to take one starting Guard spot. Then You want Buchanan/Kinsler/ or someone else/portal at one of the other Guard Spots.

Does Ryan Rodriguez have another year of eligibility, would be my prime choice for C for next season if he stays healthy.
If he has another year....i think he does....He saves us from paying for a center in portal and we likely can go TACKLE.

Look at my early list above from smaller schools.

So I am not qualified to give an opinion after watching football for 50,years.

I hope you apply that to your own life and say nothing that you lack the requisite credentials to speak on. Bet you don’t. Stupid and lazy argument.

Just an opinion that I am sure DMoney agree with me that the last two cycles have been underwhelming for a head coach that prides himself on the OL.

He says below par and I just said awful.

Markel Bell was a great pickup unfortunately he will not be here next year.
I bet you wrote Samson okunloa off as well after he failed to start his first two years here.

Oline and dline take time to develop as it’s a man’s game in the trenches.

Surprised in 50years you haven’t figured this out… but hey old heads wanna act like they know it all and speak in absolutes l.

I checked the official roster and it lists Rodriguez as a RS Senior. For some reason I thought he also had an extra year. Guy is starting caliber C would love to see him come back.

It was tough watching the Dolphins OL after Saturday, so I decompressed by watching clips of our commits. Some major takeaways- Joel Irvin is abusive, Jackson Cantwell has dynamite in his hands, Canon Pickett is an athlete in a guard's body, Ben Congdon is a lean, athletic mover at 6'7, Rhys Woodrow looks like a true center and JJ Sparks is a phone-booth guy.

Jackson Cantwell

Joel Ervin

Canon Pickett

Ervin so underrated should be a 5 star

I'm not concern with offensive trench recruiting. I'm of the belief that Mario will field a top five o line while he is at Miami. My concern is who is the QB next year and which skill position players elevate their games.

It’s guys in the pipeline. Not guys already starting and leaving this year. Not hard to understand. I think DMoney agrees that the last two cycles have been underwhelming and most of those guys have not generated much buzz as future starters.
You said the last two classes. And one of the guys in the last two classes is already starting.

You're trying to backpedal.

You see Cantwell starting at OT when he gets here, isn’t he terrible at pass protection rn?

The players next season that will probably be competing for a starting position if Bell leaves. McCoy, Samson, Kinsler, Rodriguez, Cantwell, and Buchanan.

Samson probably take our the LT spot, I rather McCoy stay where he been playing the longest. Kinsler probably a natural replacement for Francis and then its right Guard and Center. I am sure they will look portal if necessary but someone from the last 2 classes will make a leap after Spring ball. They will go portal if necessary.

You can have that word when your bookend tackles are likely already on the roster allowing your guys to be DEVELOPED for two years minimum.
(Samson, Matt Mccoy, Tommy Kinsler, (Portal?).

Aint it great to have two of the best OL Coaches in the building allowing you to do this?.

Georgia is considered an ELITE Program and take a bunch of highly ranked guys every year n they looked like sh*t last year to my eyes.

I question Mario alot but him and Mirabol sseems to have what they look for ranking be damned so i wont question them too much on the OL.

Good DEBATE THIS IS WHAT THE MESSAGE BOARD IS FOR.
Only two misses i see is Grant Wise (TY WISE SON) AND Breck Kolojay...
Agreed of all the things to be worried about having bad line play isn’t one of them.

In this era of college football, I think you're going to have classes like we did in '25 with some more developmental offensive linemen. You can't stack 5-star on 4-star on another 5-star in this era and expect to keep him. A player like Pancake Honcho is going to be rare. Most of the time, those guys are gone by now. As long as the volume is there, I am ok with a class like '25 with the developmental players...especially when its backed up by a class like '26 that is stacked with heaters.

Does Ryan Rodriguez have another year of eligibility, would be my prime choice for C for next season if he stays healthy.
Yes.

But also expect him to get plenty of NIL offers around the P4. He's a 'Cane though. If he wanted to leave, he would have. But its also money making season for the boy.

I agree with this in principal, but the with the NCAA doing away with the spring portal it makes it more imperative that you KNOW you have starters before going into spring, not hoping someone will take a leap forward.
