Dude, relax... he's still not ready for a HC'ing job.... He's done a good job as of recently, that's the problem with dudes in here, they want to promote, demote, and jag a new person every week. Let him earn his god **** money....period! I want a promotion, too... I run into burning buildings for a living, while everyone runs OUT! Relax and enjoy this ride, **** it's been long enough.

You are nuts if you don't think he will bolt for either gig. It's in a major conference and in the SEC West where he can face Bama, Auburn and LSU every year.
 
It's crazy, I get major down voted for opening up the discussion about coach Diaz, when it's a valid topic which I (repeat) was opened up on sports extra WPLG. The fact is this is life in the fast lane of sports coaching... coaches/coordinators want to ascend to HC jobs. As for Rickt I don't see him leaving until he's wheelchair ridden.
Still got some interesting points of views anyway. But I for one don't want to change a **** thing with this squad... the Canes dry spell had lasted way too long and now we're back kicking major *** and taking fvckin names.
 
He's got a lot of football left to coach this season-- 2 ACC games, 1 ACCCG, 1 Playoff, 1 NC

Let's see how he does

PS- We want our Coordinators in demand!

He has not been offered a HC job yet. I don't think except for maybe UCF/FAU that Manny is going to get offered a decent HC job for awhile. Hiring a DC is not **** enough for AD's, if you want to be a HC better be a OC.
 
Manny is home.

He's got an opportunity to really build something special, with the local talent pool he'll never find anywhere else.

I see him riding this horse for quite a spell.

Doubt he can go anywhere in the 305 and be able to pay for his coffee.
 
I would imagine he stays until he gets offer a big time HC job kind of like what Kirby smart did with bama.

Diaz will certainly get calls this offseason, and in offseasons to come, to be a head coach. His father takes a pragmatic approach, while basking in this dream season.
After all, he used to buy Hurricanes gear for his son. Now, he’s the proud owner of a Turnover Chain t-shirt.
“We don’t talk about it,” he said of his son’s coaching future. “Our lives, my life, and his, have always been a surprise. Every year after the bowl game, you’re sitting next to the phone waiting for the call — ‘Hey, here’s where I’m going.’ Like [Dec. 2015], it was, ‘Hey, I’m coming home!’ ‘What?’ So you just never know.
“Manny and I are very similar that way. What’s important right now for him is Virginia, period, end of story. One game at a time. Let’s keep winning. If and when something happens, we’ll think about it. For now, it’s all about winning the next game.”
