The future of coach Diaz

He should dominate under Richt and then be our head coach when Richt retires

this is his dream school where he grew up , he could wait for CMR to retire, anyway i dont think hes going anywhere any time soon

If Diaz gets a offered a good HC job he should take it. If our coordinators aren't getting offered, we aren't winning. I'd love him to be our bud foster, but a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. I trust Richt will fill the spot w someone good.
 
Look at Venables at Clemson, the last few years he's been one of the top coordinators in the country and a name tossed around for head coaching gigs and has yet to bolt. Hopefully Manny stays, gets a raise, and really builds something dominant.
 
UCF, South Florida, etc

I don't see him leaving the state but money can sway us.

As much as a like Manny, if I'm forced to pick between him and Coack Kool, I want Kool. The top schools each year have stacked DLs, that's what separates the elite teams. That's why we have a chance against whoever we play, including Alabama and Clemson

I hope this is truly the case. If I were CMR, I'd tell him, let me win a championship and retire, then I'll give you the keys to this baby.

Things keep trending the way they are with Richt getting a title, and there could be a transition sooner than some think.

That is my concern about Diaz, is he patient enough to wait for CMR to retire? Being that this is Miami, his hometown, we have a chance.

One common theme during the glory days was that it's a good thing when one of the assistants gets an HC job. It makes it all the more easy to find a sterling replacement. We seldom had coaches make lateral moves. The head coach is the thing in college football. Everybody else is replaceable. My concern is not so much Diaz as Coach K. Bama, Mich,OSU, could put us in a bidding war we cannot compete in.
