The FSU game crowd

If you want the students back, make it for the students.

They banned the reserved parking spots in late 2017 (blamed it on safety) for chapters & org and the student section has never been the same since.

Reality is that was the first taste of dominance in HRS & they realized all the money they were losing by not selling a **** ton of premier parking spots.

That was a different time and a different type of UM student. And the school had half the enrollment it does now. Students leaving at halftime has nothing to do with distance from campus. Look around college football and you'll find this to be an issue just about everywhere. I've seen plenty of posts in various social media groups from older fans at several schools saying its an issue.
Its BEEN an issue, maybe we talk about it now because even when good we see UM students dont care but thats not a surprise. UM football team always been the city team anyways, they couldnt fill stadium up with NYC kids who dont care if they tried.. The kids probably dont want to sit up top because they probably entitled and feel like they cant post "good" pictures on social media and cant make a tiktok

Check the dates with saban in his run with on campus stadium

… and this is an on campus stadium.

Out of morbid curiosity, I asked Deep Blue to see what research exists on game attendance (see above); not definitive, but interesting to see some trends.

Student section turnout was 75%... mind you tickets for the game amongst students crashed Ticketmaster and sold out QUICKLY. Many of these same students that claimed a ticket went to a dumb EDM concert to do molly and LSD instead.
was at an earlier game this szn....felt a lil messed up n wanted to get back home...walk back to car around mid third quarter...there are like 20+ students walking out . they all.met up at a truck where i parked with another 10 students sitting in the truck bed all to talk about which bar/club
they were about to go to do what u posted above lol

For those speculating the attendance for Pitt I went on Ticketmaster tonight and there are around 250 tickets for sale in the entire stadium that are not resale tickets so based on that the game should be an easy sellout. It also helps that face value is 75% cheaper in the upper deck when compared to the FSU game. Jacking up the ticket prices for a terrible FSU team (record-wise) does not do our fans reputation any favors. If you want to do that for club and 100 level that is more defensible. But charging $225 to sit in the 200th row is ridiculous.

Felt like the stadium was more filled out vs Central Michigan than Fsu. I think it’s a combination of the students who would rather sneak their cherry vapes in for half a games worth of their time, and also it becoming a corporate type event with second hand ticket brokers overcharging and not selling.

An easy sellout? I’ll believe that when I see it lol all I know is at noon there will be 36k in their seats because our stupid fan base can’t get in the stadium on time. Ever.

This will never change. I still remember my first Orange Bowl game, swaths of people left the Orange Bowl as UCLA took a 38-21 lead in that 1998 game.

I do think that college towns and their fans are different than big metropolitan cities. I see a lot of the same stuff in Los Angeles...
They missed one **** of a comeback and an instant classic. Edge went off in that game and destroyed the Bruins defense. Scott Covington also had a great game.

Loved that game. It was brutally hot that day and Edge was ripping off run after run. He became my favorite RB from that day on.

CTG, they absolutely did. When Santana Moss cut the UCLA lead to 38-35 on that corner-post, and the lights went on at the OB, seriously, for the rest of the game it was electric. Everybody stood up in our section for the rest of the game. It was amazing.

I can still see Covington on Miami's final drive asking the West End Zone and the whole crowd to quiet down a bit as they were marching to the goal line. It was unreal.

Then to rush the field (which was the only time I can remember Miami fans doing). One of my all-time favorite sports memories

Sounds like a bunch of you were first-timers to a live Canes game. Lemme break it down for y’all.

People are late to enter because of Fireball and 8 Ball. They get back to their seats late to start the second half because of Budweiser and Coke Bullets in the baños. They leave early cuz their plug called and they need to re-up.

Does the school run buses/shuttles/horse and wagon/Model T/flying Tesla Roadsters from campus to Hard Rock and back for home games? If so, how many? How often do they run? How much encouragement is provided to students to utilize them?
UM students with valid game tickets can ride the UBus, a free campus shuttle running from Lakeside Village Plaza directly to HRS. Don't know the exact schedule.

About kids not showing up using the overflow tickets in the upper deck: at the start of the game that upper corner area was pretty empty but if you were there as the game progressed, I guess maybe into the second quarter, it looked to me to be about 2/3 full so maybe some of you are just looking at a static image or didn’t look back up there later

I was on the 50 and I saw that section to my upper left, and I distinctly remember maybe midway through the second quarter that it was already filling up
