The Foreclosure (7/12)

man i cant see us going on a playoff run with a worse QB than last year with a tougher schedule. id be shocked at least.
So how many QBs on CFP teams last year were better than Cam then?
What if our defense significantly improves while our offense only takes a minor step back. Not sure why that would be shocking if it happens.
As far as a tougher schedule, who and when you lose is more important.

Soooo you gave examples of us being on the verge that highlighted Mario’s coaching ineptitude. I’ve been screaming for 3 years that Manny was a better coach and was laughed at. Mario is a perennial 3 loss coach at best. And that’s with him being given everything he needs to compete with the big boys
Hmmmmm your 5th post on an account from an account made a few months ago. And you say you’ve been screaming this for years?

Either you’ve previously been banned and made a new account

OR

You’ve been hanging out with people that don’t have their head up their ***. Which is it?

lol our defense is gonna be top 10 overall nationally? thats what you would need. our offense isnt taking a minor step back. CB isnt Cam Ward. he isnt expected to be either but we way need him to be. our offense likely goes from uber elite (last year with Ward and zero NFL WRs and RBs) to average maybe above average this year.

it doesnt matter who or when you lose when youre not in the p2. we have to win the conference to get in bc theyre not giving the ACC an at large bid again.

Rule #1 in recruiting. Never speak in absolutes.

Doesn't matter your source. There are too many variables and by variables I mean ****bags connected to kids to ever truly know the outcome of a recruitment. The only thing close enough to call an absolute in recruiting may have been Duke Johnson.
And DeeJay Dallas… just don’t listen to him about his Ace

A lot of factual statements made on things that are completely hypothetical and opinion. But, par for the course here.

Recruiting aside, y’all killing me with the “if you couldn’t get it done with Cam Ward, you’ll never get it done” in the same calendar year that Ryan Day won natty with Will Howard after having CJ Stroud and Justin Fields for 4 seasons prior 😂

It’s not rocket science it takes a full team to win. If Beck isn’t as good as Ward (newsflash he won’t be) but the defense is top 25 Miami will be a better team.

Ok but day took over a well oiled machine.
and hes still producing high end NFL talent now years later past Urbans recruits. the point is they are producing high end picks. we are not and mario has not over a consistent period of time in his coaching tenure

So if we had the no.1 overall pick last year and potentially more 1st rounders this year now that he is in his 4th year he is on track. Day silver spooned and kept it going which he still had to do but the situations aren't comparable.

... So how many CFP teams had a top 10 nationally ranked defense? Lol. You know there are 12 CFP teams right? Would be tough to have all of them ranked inside the top 10...

Last year we had the #1 Offense in the country by far, and a bad defense. This year it's absolutely possible to still have a top say 10-20 offense, and maybe our Defense turns into a top 20 unit as well. Which having BOTH be very good units could absolutely lead to more wins - or more importantly the RIGHT wins that gets us into the CFP. Last year we went undefeated Non-Con and lost 2 Conference games. Who and when you lose is as important. If we were in the ACC CG because say we lost to UF instead of Syracuse at the end of the season, who knows if we would have been in (even with an ACC CG loss)... Also it's not like we weren't one of the first teams out....

Why is it that crazy to think we could maintain a top 10 offense, and our Defense can take a massive step forward. We have CFP DLine talent, and possibly no other unit in the country is getting as large of a talent boost as our Secondary going from last season to this season.

This idea that the ACC is not getting 2 teams in seems entirely made up. There are plenty of ways for the ACC to have multiple bids, like If us and Clemson are both 11 win teams and make the ACC CG, both us are in the CFP.

I think the offense will take a significant step back, but anywhere near average would be pretty surprising. Even with Van Dyke ****ting down both legs and having to play backup qb’s in multiple games, the ‘23 team finished top 40 in most offensive categories (38th in scoring, 32nd in yards per game, 25th in yards per play, 20th in yards per rush, etc). I think it’s fair to give Dawson some benefit of the doubt at this point.
