The Foreclosure (7/12)

@Cribby posting like you hacked his account has people shook.

It is like Fred just pulled off Mario's mask and showed them we hired Bret Bielema and not Nick Saban...

I just speak the truth and say what I think . I’m done with excuses. It’s a results driven business and Mario has been afforded more than majority of Fbs coaches to run his program.

Agreed. I have gotten sideways with you a time or two with my antics, but I know you are shooting straight. We all wish the news was better.

I agree with Mario having issues as a gamebday coach and strategist but he can develop talent. the guy has put plenty of good players into the nfl. he just needs more talent to overcome his issues.
My main gripe with this program for the past 20 years has been an inability to develop. I respect you as a poster so I’d like to hear you out on this.

When talking about development, it’s hard to put it all on the HC. It’s the position coaches who need to develop IMO, although Mario should have a role in developing OLmen.

When I think of the great developmental programs, it’s usually doing more with less. Narduzzi getting a 3 star and making him a draft pick. I don’t really consider a consensus 5 star like Mauigoa a feather in Mario’s cap when he goes first round.

IMO Miami has severely lacked in this area. Despite consistently signing blue chippers, the majority fail to get drafted or fully bust. The Greg Rousseaus are few and far between.

What I don’t understand is why this inability to develop seeming haunts every Miami staff. Is it something in the culture of the program? Something to do with S Fla kids? I don’t know. But to me it is a huge issue.

He was 86-25 at Michigan with a national championship and 3 B10 titles. That’s better than what Mario did when he took over an already very good Oregon program. And over a longer period of time and with a much tougher conference/schedule.
You are moving the goalposts.

You said nobody was successful if they didn't have a big turnaround immediately and while Harbaugh did have a good first two years he then proceeded to have five mediocre years.

My point had literally ZERO to do with Mario and everything to do with this notion that if you don't have immediate success that you are then doomed to never being a top team.

PS: Nick Sabag also did the same thing at Michigan State and then at LSU.

they will never dump in these resources if he fails. thats my concern.
I don’t know but trying to will a pig being pretty into existence trying to dress it up up with lipstick isn’t going to make it happen or make things better

I’m going to try to find something like this that covers Mario’s whole career.

I think this list is also inherently flawed because a team like UGA only takes so many 3 stars, presumably when they see a diamond in the rough. Whereas a team like Pitt is filled with 3stars, lowering its percentage even though they get players drafted.

You’re moving the goal posts to defend Mario.

My exact quote was “winning happens fast or it doesn’t happen.” Harbaugh won immediately.

Saban never won at MSU. He won immediately at LSU. Are you saying winning the SEC in year 2, isn’t winning immediately?

I’m not sure Mario could win with the 2001 roster…he’s got plenty enough talent to get to the ACCCG but figures out a wsy to ***** things up come November.

And I keep hearing about the ACC being a problem and maybe it is but Clemson seems to have figured out how to win big in this ****** league…

Yup we need to take a different approach in regards to development and identifying kids who can play .
