We went from a used car salesman to a new car salesman. Mario has shown in 3 years innovative abilities on how to lose games. Couldn’t even to .500 in year 1 for all the hoopla. Ga Tech and the offense unraveling on him year two. Defense unraveled on him year three.

They managed to lose 2/3 games down the stretch with the first pick in the draft at QB, and it took miraculous comebacks and some referee luck to win 2 others. Bottom line, this guy hasn’t shown he has a coherent tactical vision and he doesn’t have the ability to get a team consistently ready to play.

UM sells itself enough when we’re winning. We keep chasing salesmen instead of architects. It’s a shame.

People ask, “Why do local players crap on Miami?” And those same people have hundreds of posts crapping on Miami.

And it’s usually deserved. We’ve been bad for two decades. There are many reasons to be cynical. But we can’t act surprised when local kids who grew up in Miami, around Miami fans, and who watched Miami meltdowns have a lack of faith in Miami.

Excuse making at its finest. This is getting ridiculous.

I just don’t blame the recruits for thinking the same things that fans say all the time.

I won’t sugarcoat it. I’m expecting more bad news, based on recent conversations. There isn’t much confidence on anyone right now, including Derrek Cooper.

I’ve thought we’d get him from the beginning, and still think we can flip him at some point. But we’re behind Texas headed into the announcement. And this is an absolute top priority recruit.

It seems a lot of kids still don’t believe in Miami. And the local players least of all. That’s understandable- they know us the best. Many of our fans don’t believe in us after two decades of disappointment.

The bottom line is we need to get over the hump. We were on the verge when we forgot to kneel against Georgia Tech. We were on the verge when we were up 21-0 on Syracuse. We need to get to the next level as a program to prove we aren’t the place dreams go to die.

Until then, we will be fighting a lot of uphill battles.
