The "Fək U I'm Outie" Era of Transfer Portal??

Tellling the truth about what?

Maybe Leach did question his toughness? He's allowed...he's his coach.

It’s become an era of tail wagging the dog, & it’s been way too much catering & allowance going on that’s giving them this entitlement.

Had the portal + NIL been a thing in any era you'd have the same result.

Guys just aren’t forced to stay somewhere anymore. It’s no different than a job. If your job sucks, you’re allowed to quit and work somewhere else. That doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to get a better job but at least you have the opportunity. People acting like you should just stay at a dead end job forever because trying to improve your situation is “quitting”
It's not that they're being 'forced' to stay somewhere - bearing in mind that you were never forced to stay anywhere, you could always transfer - it's that they're simply not willing to work hard and fight for playing time.

For a lot of the transfers it's the first time they've genuinely not good enough to start and their response is to run from adversity. It is what it is.

I'm not sure that's the case for most transfers. Look at the number of guys jumping into the portal at Florida and Miami. New coaching staffs that came in. Is it just a coincidence or do the coaches after a year on the job, seeing these guys work day in and day out tell the kids "look, you should probably look elsewhere as you're just not a good fit for what we're looking for and won't get playing time". Or the case may just be that no matter how hard they work, they're just not talented enough.

So, the choice could be go to a Group of 5 program or FCS team and actually play in games, or be happy to bust your tail and be 4th string, where your entire college football experience is MAYBE some garbage time in a blowout against FAMU. You only get one shot at this in life.

As an aside, what happens if a guy enters the transfer portal and no other college wants to offer him a scholarship? Does the original school still need to keep him on scholarship? Is it like when a guy declares for the NFL draft, where he is gone no matter what?

This is the result of the P*ssification of America…. Where everyone gets a participation trophy, don’t make anyone feel bad, your coaches in Middle School and High School don’t cuss you out or make run til you puke anymore.

Not advocating for abuse by any means but there were definitely some character building… accountability lessons being taught and learned swiftly back in the day.

“Not advocating for abuse” after having just advocated for abuse, smh.

But But But what about the kids being treated fairly and be able to transfer and make money off themselves. This what happens when kids think they are worth more then they are without never having done a days work in their lives off the football field and expecting things to be handed to them.

Players had to sit out a year and lose a year of eligibility. On top of that they could only transfer to a school that was approved by their coach. So, yeah they were “allowed” to transfer but only to certain schools and to the detriment of their athletic career.

I fail to see how a guy who’s never going to see the field is running from adversity if he transfers. If your boss said you were never going to get promoted and he was hiring new employees and moving them ahead of you, would you just stick it out? These guys, for the most part realize they’re not good enough and want to go somewhere they will be good enough. All the hard work in the world isn’t going to turn a mediocre athlete into a premium athlete. Some guys just have to face the reality that they’re just not that great.

Once you’re in the portal, you’re in the portal. Your old school is under no obligation to take you back. A lot of guys who enter the transfer portal never get signed anywhere and their college careers are over.

& soft af. Literally want the easiest path possible, want more for doing less, entitled, & can’t handle any sort of criticism.
Yes soft af it does seem... a soft culture is ubiquitous. I read the scant articles on this and I can't find Leach mishandling the kid... that is unless you already have pirate allergies. Hey, Colorado may be a good fit?

Thank you for the info.
