The Eyeball Test (underclassmen)

Jordan Lyle looked promising in both games so far. Frederique is rarely tested but has some tools. Pruitt was flying around.

On the other end of the spectrum. I was disappointed not to see Bobby Washington, been a good little while since he's been mentioned.
I was disappointed not to see Bobby Washington until I saw Pruitt, Aguirre and Hayes - then I understood why he's not getting any burn.

I can’t be the only one who’s slightly annoyed/frustrated at all the number changes from year to year, am I?
I mention this only because I’m not autistic to the level where I can memorize the roster by number fast enough to know who made a play.

Cotdam I’m getting old. Complaining about numbers and stuff.
The wife knows a good bit about sports so we were watching the game together

Her job was to have the roster pulled up and I would signal who I wanted to comment about by number

From the young guys, Hayes and Popo both had moments where I was impressed by what I saw. Horton had himself a game, too. And Lyle has looked pretty good in his snaps so far.
I do wonder if there's a little bit of politics going on with Lyle - he looks very good, but so does Allen (and always has when he's been given a chance).

Surprised (but not complaining) about the depth chart of the RB room because for me it's clearly Martinez and then Allen as the best two (with Lyle third, Fletcher fourth and CJ as a 3rd down back).

Was surprised that Nino started for more than a quarter. He's clearly the backup center at this point. Needs a bit more zip on his snaps, but the staff clearly thinks he can do it.

Well technically Rodriguez is the backup center if something happens Carpenter (knock on wood) but surprised he looks as good as he does this early in his career.

Kid took A LOT of grief on this board when he committed. Happy for him

DLinemen we've recruited are just straight up different. We ain't get'em like that for a while now. These aren't no Leonard Taylors and Jon Garvins out there.

Justin Scott looks unreal to me. Consistency should come. But the splash plays and just seeing him around the ball when he's in translates as long as the heart is there to be consistent and get better. Both weeks.

McConathy looks good to me. He's not a splash player. But I when he's in, the ******* son of Colin McCarthy will be a guy for us. I like the effort. He puts in work, but still needs to get more comfortable at this level.

Frederique is the real deal.

It's easier to pick out the young pups who aren't physically impressive. You pointed out aside from the freshmen Popo and I can't echo that sentiment enough, felt like me & @Dwinstitles were Co president's of the Popo fan club when he was recruited. I expect Popo to be our starting MLB next year.
I’m a linebacker at heart and I think I cried grown man tears when we landed that group. Pulliam, Popo, Washington etc etc it had been so many years of sad LB recruiting

It is annoying

The worst is our punt return position where they can put any number of people into a random jersey number. My family thinks its funny because I refer to it as witness protection.

But if that is the most annoying thing about watching hurricane football, I will take it. God knows we have had much bigger issues than that.
