Can one of the OL masters in here give us a technical rundown of running DUO out of 10 personnel groupings?

Because, you know, I think 10 might be useful to us this year. But, I also acknowledge we're highly likely to run DUO.

So, what creative ways outside of running Mensah into the ground unnecessarily do you all have for sealing that unblocked Edge player? Please don't have Mali on wham blocks. I kid, I kid.

Would also be curious to see us flash 2RB and WR. Mark Fletcher can do some blocking if he remains healthy.

3x1 bunch and the blocking scheme depends on how the defense aligns to the bunch - either they set the edge on the apex of the bunch, or keep him at a 5T and bump the nickel out on the apex.

If you run it 2x2 and spread the alignment wide, then I think you complicate your life a bit.

The key out of 10 personnel is to have wrinkles off the duo or to setup the duo such as the RPO slant or mesh concepts or the quick and easy bubble.

Duo almost then becomes the 3rd option out of the formation. Attack the outside via the pass the attack with duo once the defense begins to cheat out

Can I get glance RPO emphasis with our WR options? Who'll run it best? Barkate snuck inside?

I think a lot of the run game is going to be called by Mensah at the LOS depending on box numbers.
We are going to destroy light boxes.
I think everyone is going light boxes anyways, most teams arent patient enough (last year we were) and you have to be willing to crawl down field and be comfortable with no explosives, but one penalty or tfl and the drive dies..

You list to any of these coaches prior to camp and all are enamored with what IU has done with less talent.. Then you see whats goin on in NFL and they were ahead of curve this time in regards to solving their own issues.. Light box, sit in 2 deep shell, post snap movement, zone it up on back end..

Here’s a technical breakdown: how would you like to be hit by the combined force of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Youve got cantwell (pro comp: Jonathan Ogden), Samson (pro comp: Walter jones), Matt McCoy (pro comp: Orlando pace), Ryan Rodriguez (pro comp: ALL AMERICAN center James brockermeyer), and Ben congden (pro comp TBD but my college comp is a bigger and stronger cantwell).

Not only does this represent the greatest offensive line of all time, but it embodies the level of my physical attraction to Mario. By physical attraction I mean my attraction to the physicality of Miami hurricanes football, combined with sexual feelings.

Is that technical enough for you?

No matter where I move in my current room, your avatar's eyes follow me.

The only way to do it is to have that slot crack down on the edge. I also don’t expect to see a lot if any running out of that set. Mario likes to use TEs in the run game

Personnel usage? I'm not your guy sorry haha but in the abstract that #3 (inside guy of the trio bunch) needs to be a willing blocker especially against the big bodies. He doesn't need to be Honest Ward or Anquan Boldin, but he needs to be willing to get his body in the mix.

CJ Daniels and Mali were those guys last year - JoJo was not that guy. So body types don't matter really, but ideally that #3 guy is also a dynamic guy in space for the bubbles with #2 and #1 blocking for him.

Mali seems like the ideal fit but not sure how much we want to punish his body especially if we are going to run a lot of 10 personnel as we are hoping we do.

I can see Barkate fitting as well but I like him at #2 to take off the top or run the wheel with #1 running the smash route, dig, post, or hitch.

Not 10 personnel but using Lofton in that bunch set helps a ton in both the run block fits and the pass game

We don’t have anything proven in that TEs room so FUXK IT even on running downs let’s 4/5 WIDE DAT BIHHH

I don’t think we have to run duo out of 10 sets. There are other blocking schemes that we could incorporate.
Given what you know of our personnel options, what are you running most out of 10?

Can motion Toney back at RB and use Fletcher as a FB essentially to block the overhang. Or turn it into a triple option.

Compressed/Bunch and using WR cracks to force the overhang “free” guy as the Cb.

Try to Turn it into a hybrid power by pulling a backside guard/tackle whenever the defense is presenting an odd alignment that you woud want to cancel the auto double basically.

And obvious the easiest answer is running RPOs with the wr doing a little bubble/glance/slant to the free edge side.

OR maybe finally widening splits? Forces the edge wider, and makes the angles better for OLine.

Run only duo when doing RPO or something, otherwise add a lot more diverse runs like counter/power to it.

No huddle/quicker tempo.

…..regardless please let Fletcher primarily line up in pistol. Also no chance I believe we aren’t still running vast majority 11. I could see just running 11 with the TE split out though and having him doing the insert rather than doing all in-line 11. That’s actually probably how to best utilize Lofton and Briggs Id guesss tbh….

If you've followed how we have followed some of the things the Rams have done, it's not difficult to see how we ended up with more TEs on the field and WR inserts, but I haven't seen a ton of the Rams' 4WR stuff, so I'm curious what wrinkles we've got. We simply need a healthy % of 10 personnel. I'm not expecting a majority. I'm approx. 3 drives a game with flavor. Maybe that's too hopeful. I don't know.

You can run inside zone or stretch plays to start with. Inside zone could also be paired with rpo.

In my mind, when we run 10 personnel, it should be to get our playmakers the ball. But when the defense eventually respects the passing game, the defense could switch to 6 man fronts and that could allow us to run duo against that.

Well, there goes Toney racking up yards in the screen game then.
