Helton was on the hot seat last year in only year two. There were some locker room issues from what my home boy told me. Not so much w/ Helton, but with some of his assistants. This year going 5-7 was feet over the fire.

I can't see any way Richt is held over the coals here. Even if we go 8-5 every year, it wouldn't matter.
I don't think that's the case anymore. Last year result changed Blake and BOT expectation. Richt is in a NY6 or die situation next season.

I don't post insider stuff too often, but when I do, bet on it. USC has basically eliminated everyone from that staph. OC sucks and the QB position has taken steps back every year? Tee Martin gone. DBs can't turn their heads around? DB coach gone. DEs playing like chit? Udezi, you gone too (regardless if you're alum or not).

USC is trying to win. This is Helton's 3rd year there, and they already saw the staph he put together wasn't cutting it. So they put an ultimatum on him, either you stay and fix your coaching staff, or you're fired.
Never good when you see a coach fire everyone. When was the last time that has worked out?

Only time I’ve seen it work was with Brian Kelly at ND. Not sure he fired everyone, but he did bring in a new OC and DC for sure.
I was thinking of Kelly when I saw that. It’s basically burning the boat. I am not sure but I thought he completely cleaned house. He was also putting out feelers at the time for an NFL gig. When he found no takers he went with the other drastic solution. Has worked so far but it doesn’t work often.

I recall Steve Spurrier juggling his defensive staff a bit at Florida till he brought in a young man by the name of Bob Stoops...

Gary Patterson scrapped everything about his offense after a year or two of TCU getting their sh't pushed in after they joined the Big 12.

Sins of the Father? GTFOOH!!!

That's why this administration is the worst in P5. We have a national brand and are surrounded by the deepest and most fertile recruiting ground in the nation yet these imbeciles can't for the life of them put a top 20 offense on the field! How is this even possible? It's like someone being locked in a grocery store and dying of starvation!
Lolololololol!!!!!! Troof.

Great way for him to get hc experience without the pressure of winning right away.I'm sure if in a few years Texas State becomes competitive big time schools will come calling.of course you wouldn't understand that if he comes here offense doesn't perform how you expect it you guys will be all over him like you've done to every coach we've had.

He did. He realized he had to fight fire with fire in the Big 12 and adopted the Air Raid.

It wasn’t really a scapegoat situation like Helton pulled to save his own job. Helton pretty much fired everyone in order to buy himself another year. I can’t recall that strategy ever really working outside of Kelly.

It's in San Marcos( not far from San Antonio). Used to be known as West Texas State. I have a friend who went there. The folks who bought our house in Houston have a kid who goes there. It's an FCS school now, I believe.

FBS school. They're in the Sun Belt Conference. They're so bad though, they might as well be in the FCS.
