As I said earlier, Lingard is a freak athlete but not a great RB. There’s no excuse for transferring to the gaytors, but I find it amazing everyone on here labels him as a “bust” when he blew out his knee.

I woudnt even call him a freak athlete, that’s what Chaney is if you look at their testing numbers but he’s a good athlete. Chaney and knighton both tested better in the Nike sparq rating than Lingard did. I’m not going to call him a bust but we will see what he does. Don’t want to be Disrespectful but that “ I was Dreaming about the gators for months” irked me for sure
 
Duke is always going to be hard to judge because he played on some subpar teams. Put him on some of those loaded 99-02 teams and he'd likely compare better to Gore, McGahee, Portis, Edge, etc. I think you could probably also say the same for Lamar Miller. The fact that Duke [and Lamar] have had productive NFL careers at a time when the NFL has shifted away from more traditional, run-heavy offenses says a lot about each's ability.

sure, that’s why smu top rushers went for 1300, 500, and 200 last year. Third stringer definitely got meaningful snaps. People say this kind of crap every year if they think we have a stacked position

He's a physical freak with special ability & high upside, people are selling too high on High school offense transition & not paying enough attention to his elite athletic traits.

I think people look at Lingard and they think Chaney will have similar issues adjusting. But Don is really intelligent and has better instincts than Lingard. Lingard has The Don beat when it comes to pure speed, but Don is a much more complete football player.

Plus I have a feeling that Lashlee’s recognizes the needs to simplify certain things in the playbook due to Corona and the reliance on some freshmen this year

Chaney has all the tools and one could wonder where his ceiling is based on his H.S. system and natural development. My jury is out on Don but, in what limited tape i've seen, it looks like he can do whatever he pleases at the next level. It's just a matter of the OL gelling, how he sees the field, opportunities and his feel for the game.
